  • HIGH PERFORMANCE: 4 Port USB PCIe card with dual ASM3142 controllers with up to 20Gbps total bandwidth across 4 ports; 2x USB-A (10Gbps) 2x USB-C (10Gbps) hub; Supports USB 3.1 Gen 2/USB 3.2 Gen 2x1
  • TRANSFER SPEEDS UP TO 10Gbps: USB-A & USB-C PCIe card adapter supports Multiple INs maintaining max bandwidth with mixed speed devices; UASP support; ideal for use with USB devices & external storage like SSDs, HDDs, NVMe drives; Works w/ USB 3.1/3.0/2.0
  • OPTIONAL POWER: USB PCIe expansion card with SATA power supplies supplemental power to the USB ports (when motherboard power is insufficient) providing up to 5V 3A/15W per USB Type-C port & 5V 0.9A/4.5W per USB Type-A port
  • COMPATIBILITY: USB C add-on card installs in full-profile PCIe 3.0 (x4 slot) desktop/server; lower performance with PCI-e 2.0; Windows/Linux/macOS auto driver install (Windows 8 & up)

This 4-port USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) combo card makes it easy to add to the performance and connectivity of your computer. The USB 3.2 card offers two USB Type-C port (10Gbps), and two traditional USB Type-A ports (10Gbps). By offering two different USB port types, you can easily connect a variety of USB devices to your desktop computer. Because the card offers 10Gbps USB ports, you can save time and avoid the performance bottlenecks that are often associated with other connectivity technologies. USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) is also known as USB 3.1 (10Gbps). Work faster and prepare for the future This versatile PCI Express combo card leverages the performance potential of USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) to help you work faster. The USB ports offer a data throughput of up to 10Gbps, so you can spend less time waiting for file transfers to complete or for access to your external peripherals. Connect different types of USB devices Now you can easily add a variety of types and speeds (generations) of USB ports to your desktop or server, using a single adapter card. The card features: Two external USB-C port (USB 10Gbps) Two external USB-A ports (USB 10Gbps) With a range of port types, the card lets you bridge the gap between devices that use different connectors. You can simultaneously connect and access USB Type-A and USB Type-C devices, while using only a single PCI Express expansion slot. By adding two types of USB ports in one combo card, you can free up space in your PC case, and eliminate the nuisance of having different cards for different USB devices. Connect your older USB devices Connecting your older peripherals isn't a problem. This 4-port USB 3.2 card is backward compatible with legacy USB 3.2 Gen 1, 2.0 and 1.1 devices, so you can eliminate the added expense and aggravation of purchasing new devices. USB 3.2 Gen 1 is also known as USB 3.0 (5Gbps). The PEXUSB312A2C2V is backed by a StarTech.com 2-year warranty and free lifetime technical support. Note: The card does not support DP alt mode or USB Power Delivery.

Works with no problems out of the box. This is PCIe x4 card, so it provides greater transfer rates than other cards, which are PCIe x1. A bonus: there is a SATA power connector on the back of the card, which allows providing extra power to the USB ports.

I bought this card because when I plugged a high-speed hub into a USB 3.2 Gen 2 card I have, I had frequent disconnects. I decided an separate card might solve this problem. I installed this card in a x4 PCIe slot and it worked without issues. I have 4 external drives plugged into the new card, 2 - HDDs in USB 3.1 docks and 2 older MyBook HDDs. My 6TB Seagate Barracuda in the 3.1 dock shows speeds of 250 MB/sec with CrystalDisk Mark, which is twice the speed I got before. Comparing the read/write speeds of the old MyBook drives my speeds increased from 43MB/s to 150 MB/s. I have had no disconnects or drive recognition issues that I had before with the hub. I have been happy with the StarTech products I have and am happy I bought this card. Although I have 4 devices plugged into the card, I only use one at a time. Buyers should be aware the advertised bandwidth of almost all of the cards of this type is a SHARED bandwidth, meaning you might not experience the fastest speed when multiple devices are being used at the same time.

Really simple, plug and and play, has enough power for my x-56 hotas. Haven’t been able to enjoy it for a few months, so feels nice to be back.

The first one I received had a non operational USB-A port on the 2nd controller. All other ports worked fine. I returned it for replacement. The 2nd one had a non operational USB-A port on the 1st controller. I checked to ensure latest drivers were used both times, tried both spare PCIE slots, and tried several different USB devices to make sure it was a card problem.Of note: Neither card was packaged inside an electrostatic bag when I opened the manufacter's packaging. Seems surprising for a PCIE card.

It has been my experience that USB cards like this rarely live up to expectations. But my fairy godmother must have put down her knitting for a moment and waved her magic wand, because this one actually works surprisingly well. To test it out after installation, I used usb 3.1 Gen 2 cables, and Novus usb 3.1 Gen 2 enclosures, with WD Gold drives, and was able to get transfer speeds ranging from 120 up to 180. Not as fast as internal SATA speeds, but way faster than any usb I have worked with. The card is a bit pricy, and requires separate power, but when you can get something that actually does what it is supposed to, then its worth it.

It does what it says, it’s easy to put in and you don’t need to configure anything. The only problem I have is when I use my usb transmitter the range is weak un like when I use that transmitter on my actual usb computer. It’s not so bad
