Tried a cheaper one, but it was very laggy, and not useful at all. This one is more expensive, but you get what you pay for. Works great, no lag. Just works as it should!

I am not all that tech savvy-I did enough research to figure out this was the kind of device that might help me hook up a second monitor to my laptop and then I took a leap of faith….but it worked perfectly. It came with a disk and instructions plus their website was quite helpful….as I said, I didn’t need to do any troubleshooting but the help was there.

FINALLY! I have tried 4 different USB to HDMI adapters and this was the winner. All I was trying to do was connect a TV to my work desktop as a 3rd extended screen. My HP Desktop only has one HDMI port, which was already taken up by a second monitor. That left me with only my 3.0 USB to use. After trying 3 other options, which all failed, I finally ordered the StarTech Adapter and it worked! It was plug-and-play, no sketchy downloads needed, and provides an extended display that is clear, edge to edge, and has no lag. The device does not overheat after being on for my full 9 hour work days either. I can't recommend this option enough. Don't waste your time with the other options like I did and just go with the StarTech Adapter, you'll thank yourself later.

Bought this because laptop doesn't have thunderbolt USB-C port, only data transfer USB-C.Works well. However, it interrupts the signal of the USB port next to it so the mouse stopped working.Bought an USB-A adapter ($11.69) for the USB-C (data only) port. Moved it over USB-C port. Doesn't seem to disrupt the HMDI port that's used for the other external monitor.Let's see if the heat level affects the hardware down the road.

I purchased this item to connect a third monitor as I work from home and needed to add another monitor. I previously tried 3 products and all three failed to work. As I continued to search for the right adapter, I came across StarTech USB 3.0 to HDMI Adapter. Once the adapter arrived I plugged it into the HDMI port on my tower and immediately my desktop recognized third monitor. This is the adapter you need if you’re looking to add an additional monitor. Best purchase yet. StarTech products are very reliable and well worth the price!

! I am giving this a 1 star rating because i cannot give it zero stars !Upon first connecting this adapter everything seemed to work fine. I used it for about 30 minutes with my monitors before having to step away from the system for a few hours. When I came back my system had hibernated and appeared to not be able to wake up. After rebooting the system and finding the same issue I disconnected the only thing that had changed in my environment, the StarTech.com Slim USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter. The main monitor (directly connected to the system via HDMI) woke up and responded without issue. Once fully logged back into the OS (Windows 10) the second monitor (connected to this adapter) seemed to once again work fine. After a few minutes though there were once again issues. Any program or application window placed on the second monitor would, after a few minutes, be kicked over to the main monitor automatically at which point all monitors would flicker on an off with the second monitor staying out for a few moments. This happened repeatedly over the course of about 30 minutes. Once i removed the adapter from the USB port the issue stopped reoccurring. After doing a fair amount of research, including attempting to upgrade all drivers and software, i read through some more reviews here and found that others are having the same issues with this adapter. I have had this adapter connected and configured for less than a day and am returning it. Do not buy this adapter, look elsewhere. I for one will not be purchasing anything from StarTech ever again.

I was desperate for an HDMI adaptor and saw this product. I decided to get this instead of the other cheap options because I saw the reviews and this one seemed the most trustworthy. The slightly expensive price was worth it at the end because I received a well packaged, easy-to-use adaptor. No need for tutorials. Thank you.

Funciona excelente con una MB Pro 14" 2021, el precio un poco elevado pero ya tiene varios meses de que lo estoy usando y no ha presentado ninguna falla por lo que puedo decir que es de muy buena calidad.

Comprato per vedere se riuscivo ad abilitare l'HDR da Mac e SI.Per cui utile per sostiuire gli hub USB-C che non permettono di attivare HDR sul monitor esterno per restrizioni evidentemente di banda dati passante per l'HDMI dell'hub.
