We bought this as a replacement for the previous clip when the clip broke in the original when my husband was installing a new starter. It takes a pretty tight squeeze to get it to snap into place which made it seem like it was the wrong part, but it’s just a super snug fit. Was exactly the part we needed. 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500.

The red locking tab broke easily and that was my reasoning in buying a new one in the first place bad design coupled poor materials for a starter connection. Your better off connecting with a spade connector and barrel connector!!!

Maintain OEM harness. These plugs are easy to disassemble. Gently pry out the gray core of the new connector and remove, pry each side with a small screwdriver or knife. Looking into the connector, push two small paperclip pins all the way into the small holes on each side of the metal crimp connector (they should not be able to fall out if tipped down) this will release the metal connector tabs from the plastic connector. Gently pull the plastic connector off of the metal crimp connector while holding the wire. Do the same at the vehicle then snap the new connector parts onto the OEM metal connector in reverse order (no pins for snapping in the connector).
