This fixed my starting problem. My 1997 Dodge B2500 cargo van was beginning to start intermittently. Sometimes it would just make a clicking noise and sometimes it would start, but it acted like the battery was weak and would turn over slowly. The plunger ring in the solenoid was really pitted and the contacts were burned down to half of the original thickness. I noticed that I needed metric tools to get into the solenoid. It was a relatively quick repair all in all.

Rebuilt the solenoid in my 2002 dodge Dakota, the brushes were in good shape, starts like new

Had to use one of the original connectors when rebuilding(they pressed the copper connection backwards in the kit). Kit stil worked though.

Don't buy a rebuilt starter from Autozone!!! REBUILD ANY Denso brand starter for for mere pennies, mine was on myDodge Dakota. Autozone does sell the rebuild kit, but only in Mexico, not the USA, where they know you got the bucks to buy a rebuilt starter for many more bucks. Posted by Carols' handy husband, Mark
