Overall, I am happy with this barrel lifter. It worked great on barrels with or without lids. I use this with the forks on my tractor and it is working out great for me.And it took about 5 minutes to assemble.I would buy this again as it makes life much easier for me.5 STARS

Easily assembled, works great. Shoulder that holds barrel lip is made from 1/2" stock. Sturdy construction.

I saw some folks had bad reviews stating it was hard to put together or would not hold a drum. Knowing that, I made sure I put it together using some sense and it works perfectly. You have a 50/50 shot as it only has two options. Correct which is obvious and incorrect with is fairly obvious. It is one bolt.

I tossed the directions after I put it together... but I swear I put it together how it was showed on the directions. Someone else also commented they put it together backwards. The short arm goes in the bottom hole. I remember thinking it looked wrong when I saw the directions. Kept slipping off the rim. Make it look like it does in the advertising picture not the instructions (or at least how I saw it in the instructions). Works great now!

I collect 55-gal drums of used waste oil for an oil-burning furnace. I've gotten used to rolling them up or down my truck with ramps or around with a drum cart. I also have a forklift and it is so much easier to pick them up with the drum lifter. The drum lifter does need a heavy-duty chain or strap that can support the drum's weight. I used a chain. You do need to hold the drum lifter on the top of the drum until you start lifting and it starts picking up the drum. Once it's clamped on, it can be lifted. It is still easier if you have a helper; one in the forklift and one with the drum lifter to get it clamped on and then to stead it while you move the forklift. The drum will sway a little depending on how you drive the forklift. My back is really happy I found the drum lifter!

This drum lifter is awesome. We are spray foamers and handle 55 gal drums every day. Before we loaded them onto forks and then into the rig. Now we just grab them with the drum lifter hanging from a strap on the fork of the forklift and set them right into the trailer. This thing is awesome. A friend of mine uses one as well and he loves his. Totally worth the money! Even if you only move barrels a few time a year it would be worth buying this. Easy and safe!
