These cut very well, for the price. Was able to cut a 1/8"x1/2" key seat into the shank of a 3/4" grade 8 Hex Bolt with zero issues. Very clean cut.If you watch your feeds & speeds and use a quality cutting oil, these should hold up for small scale general machine work.Only 4 stars because these cutters do not have the inch-size listed on the wooden holder OR on the shank of the cutter.

Recently got these for my shop-floor. Good set of cutters at a reasonable price. Haven't played with them much yet, but cutting a short groove in mild steel produced noticeable wear on the cutter. I did do it dry with one of the cutters I'm less likely to use in case it suffered, so I'll try with lubrication next time and see what happens.I'm sure they'll work fine for aluminum and polymers, but if you're going to be cutting steel, especially hardened steels, buy higher grade cutters.

The cutters appear to be well made. The two I've used run true and cut an accurate slot. The material I'm cutting is nickel silver, a copper alloy so I can't say how well they would perform on steel. It's still a tricky material to work with and I'm pleasantly surprised with the surface finish on the finished parts. Your getting a lot of cutters for a really low price and I had my doubts about them. Perfect for the job I'm doing and really nice to have in the machine shop for those odd jobs. Not sure they'd be my choice for heavy use large volume work. A good purchase for the machine shop as long as you keep your expectations in check.

I've only used 1 of the cutters so far but it did a great job cutting the keyway to the proper size.I'm only giving it 4 stars because I haven't used them all but if they all work as well as the 1 I used it would deserve the fifth star!

cut well but .003 to .005 too thick and create loose keyway. Bad quality control
