I actually really love these boots. I bought them thinking I would wear them only once in a while but I try to wear them every day if I can get away with it. When you get them they were a little uncomfortable around the ankles (may have laced them too tight) but I stuck with them for a few days and they loosened up. They are a tad narrow looking down on them like people are saying, but that really doesn’t bother me. They are a combat boot style so it’s what you are getting. I like lacing them all the way up or half way (there is a little notch that is perfect for wrapping them around the top of the boot if you look close). Bottom line, I’m into them and get compliments. Can’t wait to break them in even more. I’m very tempted to get the brown ones too. Btw, my picture shows them really dusty from wearing them around our office remodel. They are not really as ashy looking out of the box. I don’t wipe them down because I kinda like it.

This boot is cheaper version of previous design. It is super stiff and the tongue placement is very uncomfortable i wore three times trying to break them in but the seem placement is too bulky in the tongue and digs into the foot. Had to throw away.

Apparently I am I Steve Madden boots fan because this is my second pair and I didn't do it on purpose. The other ones i have are the dual front zipper style with the buckle on the side, and they're the Best! Got them on clearance at a Steve Madden store for peanuts!I love these boots too! They are very comfortable, the tread is sticky, and excellent, they look awesome, they are light, and flexible and seem very well made.These are not stiff heavy clunky boots though they kind of look and feel that way at first. Even the sole has a decent flex. You could absolutely sneak around in these boots like a ninja without clomping everywhere.Like nearly any leather boot they are a bit stiff at first, but they break in fast, and become quite soft and very comfortable. I was a bit concerned out of the box that they were going to be too stiff and uncomfortable but they really became pliable and form fitting.So far I have no complaints. Unless they spontaneously combust I think we're all good. Steve Madden seems to make a quality boot.

I wore these bad boys straight out of the box and it was the most painful experience I've had with any shoe/boot in my life. I've worn many boots straight out of the box and have never experienced this kind of discomfort and pain to my feet before. I was on the verge of returning them but these boots look so good, I did not want to give up on them.I took some break in techniques and applied them.I double socked my feet, put the boots on, went to my backyard, grabbed my hose and soaked my boots. I made sure every part of the boot were absolutely drenched. Everything softened up immediately and started molding to my feet. I wore the boots for a good 3-4 hours tip toeing in them to speed up break in, walking around in them, etc. You can also apply some heat to them with a hair blow-dryer or a heat gun to further speed up break-in. Now the boots are behaving and feeling like the boots I expected and still look fantastic after the break-in water technique. I'm a fan of the distressed worn look so I don't mind them looking worn faster than normal. If you are having painful break-in issues like I did, try to apply these techniques and you'll be glad you did, saved the boots for me. Took them from a 1 star to a 4 star.

Nice looking boots, but very uncomfortable. I have standard size feet and these boots squeezed my foot so hard that I had to take them off after a couple hours. I tried to break them in, but several wears, it wasn't worth it. Couldn't return, had to donate to goodwill. Bummer.

I love the style in these boots and bought them for a 3rd time...yes 3rd time in the last 4 years i think. I do over wear them not gonna lie but they are not that comfortable at first, they are pretty tight and my foot has no weird shape or anything it's just how the boot is made the top part is super tight and uncomfortable to wear the first 3 months....but this time was even $60 cheaper so I thought I'll endure some pain for another 2 months, ha!

Had these a couple weeks and so far I'm impressed with the quality seems to be made pretty good and are pretty comfortable as well

I bought these half a size bigger (normally a 10 so bought 10.5) based on peoples reviews about fit.What people say is bang on...these are a very narrow fit and when I first put them on they felt extremely tight. Toes were fine, so going a size even bigger wasn't going to fix it. Absolutely love the look of them so really didn't want to send back, so decided to just put them on in the house, walk around for the afternoon, stretch the stiff leather in all directions (was quite a good workout!) and within no time they started to give.Wore them out to go to the shops, drove in them and can safely say that it won't be long before that suffocating feeling is a distant memory.They're no pair of slippers and never will be, but the initial discomfort is worth it, because they look superb.As for the quality issues people have described I certainly don't have the same opinion. Most of those were in the USA so copies maybe?? The only bad UK review re quality was in 2018 so you can ignore that! These are proper genuine leather, very well made, and bear no resemblance to the shoe pictures sent in by other disgruntled buyers.Maybe I got lucky and got a genuine pair, but I can only call it as I find it.If you like them, but they're little tight....hang in there and break them in. You won't regret it

One shoe is not similar with another one. Leather quality is different on folding. One shoe is nice another one looks like faux leather.If not this issue they would be perfect. Unfortunately have to return it
