Easy to Install the Stock Tank Drain Plug
Install the rubber gasket on the square threaded plug, and wrap a layer of attached thread sealing tape.
Insert the threaded plug into the round hole at the bottom of the inside of the stock tank.
Screw the nut ring onto the threaded plug. NOTE: Be sure to tighten to prevent leakage
Next simply screw on the sealing cover to block the drainage outlet.

I liked how easy it was to install. Didnt even need a wrench really, you just have to make sure the surfaces are clean before you tighten it down.

I installed this stock tank drain plug on a Rubbermaid 50 gallon tank. That size does not come with a pre-drilled hole. I used a 2 1/4" hole bit and it worked perfectly. It was easy to insert the plug, but the hole was not too big. The biggest challenge was trying to use the thread tape that came with it. I gave up and used my own thread tape. Finding the end without tearing up the tape did not seem possible for some reason. In any case, the plug doesn't leak and I am glad to have an easy way to drain down the tank.

This fits perfectly in the drain of my 150 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank. I can’t speak to whether it leaks, as I use the tank as a chick brooder, but it does seem to be good quality and fit snugly. For the price, it’s a much better solution than the duct tape I was using to block off the hole!

I wanted to use this for an alternate purpose, but it turns out the diameter of this plug was too large for the drain I was hoping to plug. The plug is approximately 2 inches in diameter. Even though it didn't work for my intended purpose, I would say that this plug is a good quality plug.
