The rack is easy to install. The screws come with the unit all look sturdy. If anything the main screw is a bit long. You need a pretty thick drill for it. Nevertheless it is a solid rack for sure

Like others have said this storage rack/ski rack is made very well and I would bet it holds every bit of advertised weight capacity -- and probably more. I was looking for something that was not thin tubing and this fit the bill. These are made of thick steel and are wrapped with foam padding.I believe the price is fair considering the quality of the rack. My purpose for buying this was to store skis out of the way however this can be used to store other things as you can see in the reviews.Installation was a bit tricky for me as I wanted to mount this in between two garage bays and I only could find one stud that would fit the hole pattern on the rack -- obviously this needs two per rack to function properly. So I had to make a wood mounting piece (2x4) to "span" the gap and allow the wood piece to sit on studs at both ends (see pic). Once those trim pieces were secured to the ceiling stud -- I used the provided lag bolts/screws and two others per side just to be safe to mount into the ceiling stud -- so three total on each end of the added mounting piece. Pre drilled and counter sunk to get appropriate "bite" into the ceiling stud.Once this was secure I attached this unit to the mounting piece with some 1.5 inch lag bolts that I had. Not sure what thickness/gauge these were but they were fairly thick -- much thicker than a normal screw so I was confident in the bite into the added mounting piece.I "hung" my weight on the racks to verify they were solid and placed a set of skis up there. Only have one set up there now but plan to get the kids sets next season so I will have 4 sets total on it. Plenty of room.

This snowboard rack is perfect. It is set up to install from any direction you need it to go. It took me less than 30 minutes to open it, read the directions, find my ceiling studs, install the rack, and have the boards stored on it. Installation could not have been easier. It’s lightweight. It’s sturdy. And plenty of room to hold 4 snowboards side by side. This rack was worth every penny.

This little gadget holds my water skis, snow skis and my knee board. A great addition if you don’t have much garage storage space. Make sure you secure into the studs for maximum sturdiness.

Mounted this on my garage ceiling to store 2 snowboards, 5 pairs of skis (including 2 pairs of fat skis), and 3 pairs of poles. I put one snowboard on top of the other in order to make everything fit.I positioned the brackets 36" apart, which accommodated everything perfectly. Because I wanted these mounted perpendicular to the floor joists, I mounted them on 1x6 lumber that I cut long enough to span two joists. I used 1/4" lag bolts to install the brackets to the lumber (1") and the lumber to the ceiling joists (2 1/2") - this hardware was NOT included. I couldn't use the screws included in the box because they're designed to attach the brackets directly to the floor joist, which would make them parallel instead of perpendicular.They're made of a thick, solid-feeling material with a high-quality coating. The arms are covered with a dense foam that I suspect will hold up well over time. (We'll see.) The brackets are adjustable vertically and could not have been easier to adjust.

This rack is excellent! Put it up in the garage today and looks great. installation is quick and simple. very well made and feels sturdy, so much so, that I've got several snowboard on one side and 2 surfboards on the other. Highly recommend and would absolutely purchase again
