Product Description

A Dungeon Master's Essential Tool

As game master, or dungeon master, you control every aspect of your campaign right down to the most minute of details. So why can't you control your GM screen?

Free yourself from stock-standard screens full of tables you just don't need, or art assets that only eat up space. This hardy four-panel GM screen is completely customizable-- just prepare the content you want on a piece of regular paper and slide it into one of the Tome's eight pockets.

Throw your players a bone by stuffing the 4 outward-facing pockets with NPC portraits, maps, lore, and more. And then dig their graves by stuffing the inward-facing pockets with all sorts of nasty baddies, traps, and bosses.

Fully Customizable

Each panel is 11.5" tall and a generous 10" wide, which makes changing standard 8.5" x 11" pieces of paper in and out a breeze.

Included with every Master's Tome are 4 free art inserts and 4 free reference inserts. On one side we've collated some helpful Pathfinder content (like a hotly-requested grappling chart!), or you can flip them over for Dungeons and Dragons 5e info.

Of course, these inserts can't be exhaustive, but that's precisely why the screen is customizable.

notes

Take Notes, Adventurer

Take notes directly on the vinyl, then simply wipe it off when your session's done.

We recommend erasing after every session.

The Master's Tome is compatible with any tabletop role playing games.

Available in four colors: Green, Brown, Black, and Red.

The inserts it comes with are completely useless to me. Reference-sheets are cool and for someone new to D&D it might be nice, but I’m not new so they aren’t. Some people like to make to make things awful for themselves and DM more than 4 players so it’s frustrating that the player reference sheet only supports 4. I do not see myself ever using these sheets ever, I’d rather make my own. Save for the “tome” covers, those look nice and I was expecting those to be baked onto the screen itself. To see that EVERY side is customizable is very nice. Especially when you can use dry erase markers. That said, the dimensions of the sleeves are also strange and while the given inserts fit them just fine (after some effort), regular letter-size (8.5”x11”) paper will leave room on the sides while exactly hitting the top of the sleeves, which looks very strange. If you can somehow get something closer to 9.5” x 10.5” it might look significantly better. But I find it ironic that despite having sleeves like this they aren’t that well-suited to the most common printer dimensions. It’s not as friendly for the DIY crowd as you’d think.Oh and you have to fold this up in a VERY specific order. It does not like being folded the wrong way and you’ll know when you get it wrong within seconds of trying to pack it up. To be honest though, these are nitpicks at best. It’s still the best I could find and is legitimately good for the price. If you do like doing DIY stuff and want a similar “vibe” of fantasy-styled paper for your own inserts, look into Homebrewery. If you are willing to learn its specific flavor of markdown you can get inserts that look VERY close to these but with more customizability.

Other than having to fight the paper into the laminated pocket it's been great, but they sure aren't going anywhere. They give all the info you should need on the fly for either pathfinder or 5e. Overall looks and feels pretty solid

This Dungeon Master's (DM) / Game Master's (GM) Screen is great. I only recently started playing Tabletop RPG games because my kids all expressed an interest in playing Dungeon's & Dragons. They at the time were 13, 12, and 6 and none of us had ever played before. or knew what to do. Due to ages and unfamiliarity with the rules I decided I would have to be the DM. We enjoyed game play but we quickly discovered that it involved a lot checking and rechecking rules and spells and process in the books which was taking a lot of time, especially since we usually play only once a week to once every other week... just enough time to forget most of the rules.Enter this screen. It obviously gives me a physical screen so they can't see everything going on behind the scenes which is practical but I wonder if it might have been better to make it a landscape orientation as opposed to portrait as it's tall enough to also block my view of the table. My kids like the visual aspect of using maps and miniatures but this is tall enough that it blocks my view and I must stand up to look over it to see the table. It does have a total of 8 pockets but, effectively I would really only use 4. If it is being used as a screen then 4 face the table and 4 face the DM. Still, 4 pockets are enough to hold a lot of information. The pages come with one side geared towards pathfinder rules and other towards D&D 5e. I can't attest to the usefulness of the pathfinder sides as we've no experience with pathfinder but the sheets for D&D were pretty great. What's nice is that as we continue to play and the rules become easier and what info I want in front of me changes it's easy to change out the sheets. Of course the original sheets are larger than a standard paper which makes any sheets you create to put in it look silly because it doesn't fill the space the right way.
Just trying to help =)

I'll be honest I was a little hesitant on my rating here between 5 stars or 4 stars, but I will give this the benefit of my doubt and put it as a 5. The main reason being, as I said in my title, this is the best option for under 20 bucks shipped. Now that I have it in hand, I want to confirm a few things:First, it came in perfect condition. No issues with the edges or anything.Second, I got it in one day (I know this is location specific but still I wanted to mention that)Third, it comes with everything shown and allows inserts on both sides of full 8.5 x 11 sheets. In regards to the sheets provided, The 4 outside face ones are 1-sided, the 4 inside (dm/gm side) ones are two sided so you need to pick which notes you want to use, If you do plan on using the stock provided ones for DnD.About me specifically, I was planning on using this not only for DnD but for QR and other RPG's as well and likewise I don't need the DnD inserts during that time. That being said, my plan was to regularly swap inserts for whatever TT RPG I was GM'ing for. The thing is, these are incredibly tight and you can really only slide one piece (maybe 2) of paper in there, so don't think you are going to have 4 or 5 sheets in each folder sleeve and easily swap between them. Just considered that once installed you are just going to leave it as is, because its kind of a hassle to swap it.That being said, If you want to do what my plan was... probably not the best option for you. I suggest going to Walmart or whatever and buying (2) of the 1/2"to 1" wide notebook folders that come with the plastic shield on the outside and a folder and a small three ring on the inside. Then open the two folders up and place the edges together and run a strip of clear packaging tape down the middle to connect them. Then flip it over and tape the other side. You will then have a (4) sided DM/GM screen that allows protected inserts on the outside (as this one does) and additional pages on the inside. Also these are 1.19$ at Walmart each so it will cost you under 3 dollars for a much better option in that case. However, if you don't want to make one, you aren't planning on swapping sheets/notes, and you just want a nicely made, quickly shipped version... then this is the best option available online.Hope that helps!

Very customisable setup that allows you to change in your GM-facing and player facing panel contents as you progress in the game or switch to other game systems.

After 40 years of being a Dungeon Master I nver knew how much I needed a customiseable GM Screen until now. Very well put together with 8 clear pockets to fill with all those charts tables and trackers that you need for a game. The outside pockets are a great way to add visual clues and remind your players of specific themes for the genre/setting you are playing. A tool for not just D&D or Pathfinder but every RPG game and setting

Adaptable to any game you're playing, this GM screen is good quality and solid. It's double-sided so you can put your own images and tables into it. I love it.
