I saw this on the exterior of a friend's RV for the two steps up. It can be open or fold flat to either side. It has a solid grip. We put one in our garage for extra support going up and down the two steps into the house. Very compact, sturdy, and provides a safe handrail where there is not room for a standard handrail. Easy install too! Just be sure you attach to a wall stud.

I am thoroughly impressed with the Tromberg Carlson AM-200 Lend A Hand Assist Rail! The installation was incredibly straightforward, and I had it mounted in no time. The rail feels solid, offering excellent support and stability — perfect for getting in and out of my RV or trailer. The durability and quality are top-notch, and I can tell this rail will last for many years of use. It’s built to withstand the rigors of outdoor conditions, and I feel confident relying on it daily.A quick tip: don’t forget to grab some silicone sealant to seal the screws. It ensures a water-tight installation, protecting against moisture damage. Once you’ve done that, you’re all set for a secure and reliable assist rail.Overall, you can’t go wrong with this product. It’s a must-have for anyone looking to improve accessibility in their RV or trailer!

We installed this on our Coleman 17R. I used a 11/64 bit to drill the holes. Make sure you mark your depth to not go through the wall.I used an impact driver to run the screws in most of the way. The final 1/2" was tightened by hand.Easy install, very sturdy.

We installed this in a home that has a stairwell that ends with 4 of its steps coming into our dining room. Our disabled son couldn't get up those 1st four steps. Frankly, the wood steps are too smooth for the rest of us when wearing just socks. So, I ordered this - much to my husbands horror. We'd just purchased a beautiful new home with beautiful woodwork and wood floors - all decorated in bronze, etc. & I was going to ruin it all with a camper accessory? On & on. I didn't think I'd ever hear the end of it.Well, thanks to it's quick arrival, I didn't have to listen to his list of negatives for too many days (although it seemed like forever)! I ordered black, hoping it would look OK. It does. It installed easily. My husband proudly showed it off to those who helped us move - flipping it off to the side, so that we could get large pieces of furniture up the stairs. It's not exactly home deco, but it fits in. Sometimes we have to think outside of the box - this time it really paid off & for what I consider to be a reasonable price. It was easy to install. I should know, I proudly installed it myself! :-)It's sturdy. As a matter of fact, my husband injured his knee since the installation of the Stromberg Carlson. He's a large man 225lb. He's smaller than he used to be - he's lost 50 lbs! Sorry, just had to brag on him a bit:-) Anyways, not only did he end up liking this grip the moment he saw it, but he ended up having to use it and put quite a bit of weight on it for several months. It held up great. It does feel a little wobbly (from side to side), but I think it's probably related to its ability to be moved out of the way. It's always had a bit of 'give' to it, and over the last 9 months, it has not gotten any worse.I can't testify to it's use on campers, it's ability to withstand weather, etc., but I can tell you it opened a whole world (or at least the upstairs level of our home) to my son. The smile on his face when he can do something independently makes up for all the huffing and puffing I had to listen to from my husband. By the way, my husband agrees this grip is one of the smartest purchases we ever made & that it didn't 'ruin' our home. You'll all be proud of me that I never even told him those 4 little words - "I told you so".

Works so much better than the little handle they put on the side of the motorhome. Feels so much safer

Easy to install and looks great. Works as a railing and folds to keep the door closed. After getting a newer camper with a similar railing, I ordered this one to put on my older camper. It works exactly the same..

Don't know how we ever managed without it! Very well made, easy to install and a real lifesaver! Can handle a lot of weight too! Trust me, I know, I miss stepped coming out of the RV and if it wasn't for the bar would have landed on rocks. The bar held my weight 160lbs, no problem, I swung for about 15 seconds until I could regain my footing and composure LOL! Excellent safety item!!
