  • [Stud Detection + Laser Distance Measurement]Our multifunctional stud detector not only detects metals (rebar, copper pipes, etc.), cables, and wooden beams hidden behind walls, ceilings, and floors, but also functions as a laser distance meter. It can measure the length, area, and volume of a room, as well as perform addition, subtraction, and volume measurements, eliminating the need for a separate stud detector or laser distance meter.
  • [Multiple Scanning Modes]The multifunctional stud detector offers various scanning modes, with a detection depth of up to: Magnetic metals 3.15in (80mm), non-magnetic metals 3.15in (80mm), AC power cables 1.97in (50mm), and wood 1.5in (38mm). Its precise and fast detection saves you time and effort, helping you achieve better results and complete your work faster. Whether you're a professional, a homeowner, or a DIY enthusiast, this stud detector is your best choice.
  • [Voice Function]When the detector locates a target object, the LCD screen displays the distance and signal strength—closer objects result in stronger signals. If the sound is enabled, it will emit a "beep" (which can be turned off). When the device reaches directly above the target object, the LCD screen will show a center marker, indicating the precise location of the target.
  • [Practical Multiple Measurement Modes]In addition, this laser distance meter can measure distances up to 130FT (40m) and offers up to 12 measurement modes, such as single measurement, continuous measurement, area measurement, volume measurement, Pythagorean measurement, addition and subtraction measurements, and more. It can automatically calculate length, distance, area, and volume, making it ideal for home renovations, as well as large areas such as apartments, factories, warehouses, construction sites, and industrial spaces.
  • [Unit Switching and 50 Data Records]You can freely switch between measurement units in the settings: M/FT/IN/ft+in. Additionally, this distance meter can store up to 50 sets of measurement results, allowing you to record, compare, and calculate your measurements more efficiently as you work.
  • [Rechargeable Battery]Equipped with a built-in 390mAh rechargeable battery, it can operate continuously for up to 300 minutes. The charging port uses the most common USB-C interface, so you don’t have to worry about carrying extra cables.

I already have a pretty good and accurate stud finder for wood studs. As handy as that is, there's much more behind the plaster than wooden studs. In addition to finding wood studs, this finds metal studs, or anything metal, plus it can sense line voltage behind the wall.My testing for finding studs showed that it was right on the money for finding the left and right edges of the studs. I had a need to find metal behind a plastered wall because I know an area where gas piping was installed, and I didn't want to mount anything near that line. I had a general idea where it was given the location of the manifold and the location of the gas fireplace. This helped me trace out the whole line to stay away from it mounting shelving. The line voltage sensor is handy for a reason that I've come up against, and that's figuring out which way the electrician ran the wire to the plug or switch. I can start at the plug, and then run up the wall, and if the power was supplied from above, I can find the line he ran it. Sometimes it comes from the side or the bottom. This is helpful when you're doing demolition, or sometimes when you need to retrofit another plug on the line.I don't need all the measurement and area functions, but my testing for distance showed that it was accurate to within between an eight and sixteenth. I really like the ability to change the reading to feet, inches, and 1/16th inches. In other words, instead of giving you something like a distance of 11.25 feet, it could give you 11'-3". Or it could give you 135" if you choose. And it even breaks down the inch into 1/16th inches, which means you could a real tape measure looking reading of 8'-2"-1/16". It translates perfectly to a tape measure. Again, the reading isn't perfect, so it's not like you're going to measure the distance for crown molding, but it's very appealing for getting pretty accurate dimensions where using a tape measure isn't ideal. This is a very useful tool that's a like a Swiss Army Knife of functionality. And it's mostly intuitive once you run through the options. But don't lose the instructions, because there are a lot of functions, and you might need additional ones down the road.

In the interest of full disclosure, as a trusted and unbiased Amazon reviewer, I was able to request this product free of charge, except for having to pay tax on the fair market value of the item.Appears to measure distances very accurately. I tried across short distances and it was spot on. Keep in mind that the length includes the length of the device. So, if you but it up against a wall and try to measure a room size you will get an accurate measurement. The wording on the display is upside down. You can advance to different modes, but the notifications are upside down which is very strange. When you use the stud finder functions you get a tone of increasing frequency and a segmented bar which grows along the top and extends down each side gradually as you approach the center. When it first detects a stud you hear the word "rib" and also see this in the display upside down. The angle indicator is not accurate- I tried it on different moldings in my home and got consistent 90 degree measurements which surprised me. When I angle the unit slightly there is no change. I have to go past a certain point and then go back to get an 89 degree measurement. When I do this I can tell that the measurement is off. When I compare this against my table saw, I find the measurement is off by 1.5 degrees. Just to be certain I will eventually compare this against my digital angle gauge which is super accurate - I just can't do that now as I'm working on a project and can't get to that tool right now. This inaccuracy for angular measurements is surprising as the other functions appear to work well. The funky display takes some getting used to. As with many items today, this device suffers from the incorporation of non-removable lithium batteries. Once the batteries go past the point where they can no longer be recharged, the item ends up at a recycling center.

I use a stud finder often and I use a laser measurer often too. So, when I saw this combination tool that acts as both a stud finder and a laser measurer, I wanted to try it. Now, I can carry one tool instead of two. The laser measure portion works great, and it offers lots of options for units and calculations. More geometric formulas than I would ever use. It also has a memory, so you don’t need to always write down the measurements. The laser measurer does a great job, but the stud finder is better than most stud finders I have used. It not only finds wood studs, it also finds metal and A/C wiring. It does a good job for all three. It is a combo inside a combo. The screen is big, sharp and easy to read. Overall, this is a well-built tool that does a very good job. I like it a lot and definitely recommend it as a useful tool to have on the job.

I have a run of the mill stud finder that works great on drywall. Our house has 7/8" plaster walls, and while it works, you have to go slowly and carefully or it can miss the stud unless you happen to run it over a nail in the lathe. Checking, double checking and triple checking is the rule of the day. There are no such issues with this bad boy from SHGMEET. I can move it right along and it finds studs and wiring no problem. Its accuracy is amazing.I've only briefly played with the measuring functions so I can't say a lot about that other than the distances I measured were spot-on with what my tape measure said.Because of the speed and accuracy this product finds studs in our plaster walls, I'll give it 5 stars and would give it 6 stars if I could.
