This latching mechanism is perfect for outside doors/gates that do not need to be locked, but need adequate flexibility to keep working despite any minor dimension shifts due to changes in the moisture level and/or temperature of the current season. It properly produced and reasonably heavy duty. Based on the results of the first one I bought, I now have ordered a second one.

Very pleased with the black latch . Much easier to latch than style we had originally . Hopefully it will hold up over time and use .

My only beef was probably my own mistake: The moving and stationary surfaces have to be flush. My 2x4 gate frame isn't as thick as the 4x4 post, so I had to improvise. The latch had some paint missing when it arrived. We'll see how long it holds up. Great value for the $$, should hold my gate stationary just fine. No provision for locking, but this one is only to be opened from the inside anway.

Used this for a gate latch. It is super solid and is it exactly as described. Great product.

This does a great job of reinforcing to top of our fence gate so it remains flush.

This might be overkill for keeping my Goat's Hut Door closed, but it does what's needed. Goats are... troublemakers, and some times they need locked up. This latch keeps them penned in to their hut.
