Microphone's Port Diagram
Active Microphone: 12V DC Required 20mA
RCA Audio Female and Male Two-in-One: Different cameras have different audio port types (some use female/some use male). Sunba MIC-700 Outdoor Microphone has two types made into one unit. No adapters required. Users can apply the corresponding audio port depending on the type used by their camera.
Note: 3.5mm Jack is NOT directly supported and must use an adapter.
How to Power the Microphone without Running an Additional Power Line?
With Non-PoE IP Camera
A Y-shape slippter (complimentary in the package) is necessary in this case to divide the DC power from the adapter into two:
1) One power stream goes to the camera;
2) The other power stream goes to the microphone.
With Sunba 507 PoE Camera
A DC male to male converter (not included in the package) is necessary in this case to convert the female DC port of the camera into male. Then connect the microphone to the DC port of the camera to draw power from the PoE supply used by the camera.
With Sunba 405/601 PoE Camera
A special DC male port has been made on the camera's end tail to power the microphone. The microphone can directly apply its DC female port to the existing male port without any adapters. In this way, the Mic is actually powered by "borrowing" a few watts supplied to the camera.

I am not getting the buzzing sound that someone else mentioned above. It does not seem to be over modulated, either. It does not have a sensitivity control dial for the price, but this could prove useful in better protecting the unit vs the weather. So far, I do highly question the rated 540 s/m area that is advertised to be the functioning range. Usually, audio equipment ends up burning out and has to be changed quite frequently in surveillance. I will update if that happens.

I use this with my SUNBA 601 Speed Dome which is up at the end of the 350' driveway where the driveway meets the road. We can even hear walkers and joggers as they pass by. Also the birds and other wildlife.

Simply AMAZING!! IT PICKS EVERYTHING!! If you leave near the woods...you'll hear owls, frogs, EVERYTHING! Great product! Easy installation! Super easy. It rocks!

This mic is really loud and distorts, even with the gain turned down to ZERO in the interface of the camera NVR system. I looked for a screw to reduce the levels but it does not seem to have that option. The birds chirping make this a very annoying add on because it is so loud and piercing.. looking for a way to cut the highs.

This microphone has excellent sensitivity and sound quality. It works very well with Sunba cameras, and all other IP cameras that have an input for a microphone. I love the outdoor rating (for both moisture and temperature) of this mic as my camera and mic is always outside up in the mountains of Colorado (snow, rain, wind, heat, pollen, pine needles, etc)

Installed this as per directions. It worked fine for about 48 hours or so, then it was dead.Disconnected it all, re-connected it again and nothing works. now it sits in a box.
