Bought one of these trashcans for use in my kitchen and chose this lid style. It's wonderful, and does a fantastic job keeping odors in the trash can. only two small caveats:1. When the lid closes, the clatter of plastic hitting plastic was a bit much. I bought some small felt bumpers and installed four of them on the inside of the lid where the doors hit. Perfect! Sound is now muffled and the color matches, too!2. Very infrequently, one of the doors gets stuck open. It only takes a moment to give it a little nudge and it pops closed, but it does happen sometimes.Overall, I'm very happy with the function and performance of this lid. Initially I was hesitant because of the price, but I'm so glad I bought it!

The lid is not made from the same resin material as the trash can. It seems more like ABS plastic rather than resin. That being said, the lid otherwise functions well. The 2 leaves that close are not spring loaded; they close uniformly with a weighted rod in each leaf.

The form factor of that can that this fits was perfect for us -- the lid itself was quite pricey, but we decided to get it anyway. It is industrial -- very heavy duty. The two flaps are counter-weighted and automatically close back into place after pushing something through -- but when pushed all the way down and out the flaps lock/click into place, leaving the top open. They spring back with a tug. That said, the flaps on our lid has been a bit sticky from the day we got it -- they often stick partway down unless pulled back up. I suspect that this could fixed by filing a little bit of plastic down somewhere -- probably the holes for the flap pins are too tight -- we just haven't done it yet.

The lid flaps are weighted so that they move easily and spring back quickly. It works better than expected. We use this (plus the rectangular bottom) for a recycle bin in the kitchen. Worth the expense.

It's a perfect fit like that. I can slide the cardboard through the sbut. My only disappointment is it's too pricey for just a lid.

As soon as I assembled the 2 flaps into the lid, I could immediately tell they did not move smoothly and flip back up to closed position as they should. When I put the lid on top of the trash can, my suspicions were confirmed. If you open them even slightly (say to throw a can away) they stay open and do NOT swing closed as they should. It is a CHEAP and FAULTY design. I get that if you push the flaps down all the way, they stay open, which is a great option if needed. However, the whole purpose of the lid is to self-close after throwing something away, and they don't do that. Completely defeats the purpose of the flap lid !!! Nobody wants to reach in every time they throw something away to reclose the flaps... Unreal a product like this could be made and sold in droves on Amazon.
