It works well and isolates the mic from bumps on the table and whatever other vibrations might have transferred to the mic. I've attached this one to a mini tripod which stands directly on the table, I expect that if I were to use a boom arm it would work equally well. The rubber band hasn't perished or sagged and is still working fine. The ring itself is made of a lightweight metal so that'll last a long time and is very sturdy, doesn't flex. The attachment is a standard size and thread so it fits perfectly onto the tripod with no need for adapters meaning everything I needed came in the box and I didn't have to mess about finding extra parts. The way I have this set up I use it on a miniature tripod which stands on the desk, so if I need to move the mic I just move the whole tripod. If I had it set up on a boom arm I would rely on the boom arm to take care of motion. The attachment on this doesn't allow movement, it's a static screw type attachement, once it's screwed into place it's intended to stay in that position. The mic can swivel up and down a little in the brace which is part of the mic, but can't move left to right (Not a problen on a small tripod or boom arm which allows left to right motion), but this little gadget doesn't afford movement in and of itself.I only mention this because "range of motion" is something which the seller has added to the review survey. If it were attached to any of a mic stand, tripod or boom then this isn't particularly relevant because those things all allow for adjustment to the position of the mic and are more likely candidates. Also a slightly curious move to include range of motion because this thing is two rings with a nut and and elastic band so there is no range of motion inherent in it, but there you go.

I was wondering if this was going to be good quality or not, but it seems to be! It makes the mic better.

It effectively eliminates the shock from bumps on the boom and desk.

it was easy to attatch to my yeti mic and has reduced vibration significantly.3 years and going strong, worth the cost for the sturdiness and build quality

Useless for the Shure MV7, the part where you screw in the mic to the shock mount is too long and kind of dangles with some wiggle room, so it ends up being loose and free spins. even after screwing it in all the way.

It does it's job as a shock mount well.

If you clamp it to the neck of the Y stand (like suggested) while using a boom arm i.e. mic is upside down, the screen is way too far from the mic. If you use a shock mount and clamp the screen higher than the shock mount, it is barely long enough and I can see it won't be enough for those using complex 3D shock mounts. The screen is flimsy so it doesn't hold position very well, basically you can't clamp it sideways or upside down if you have OCD like me, because the screen will always drift to not align with the mic. But it does its job, what do you expect.
