This strainer is well made. It cooks my pasta, strains my vegetables and rinses berries without splashing or losing its contents. It washes easily too. I'm very pleased.

I ordered this because I was tired of having to strain my pasta, shrimp and vegetables. Using this, I can add everything to the pot, pull it out and drain the food and get ready to add the sauce. Works great.

Why didn't I have this years ago!? I learned placing the unit inside the water before placing the pasta inside is a big help. Otherwise the noodles will escape at the bottom making a mess. I am very pleased with this new addition to my kitchen gadgets. It makes making pasta dishes fun and easy. No more heavy pots filled with scalding hot water.
