I bought these holders after lots of looking for longer, wider hangers that could fit a very large/thick mantel. These work well as the length is perfect and they have a larger than average top piece that keeps it from falling over. We hung stocking for looks, but not sure how well they would stay if we put things in the stockings. Wish the tops were a bit heavier, but overall very pleased.
