Went together easily. Appears quality. Engine started on first pull! I put in 2 gallons of hydraulic fluid and it barely reached the bottom of the dipstick. So far so good - I haven't used it a lot yet, split enough wood to fill up a small wood rack and worked perfectly. I have a small fireplace in a small house, so didn't need a big wood splitter, and this one was perfect. Wheels around the garage easily.

East to assemble, needed 1/2 qt of 10w30 oil for engine, fuel, & 2 gallons hydraulic fluid for ram setup. Started right up and split some average logs I had laying around. Real test to come when I split some live oak in the next week or two. Up to 16†in diameter & 18†long. It’s 116 heat index so I’m waiting awhile. Ram works smoothly but seems to push right on the larger logs as it extends to its full length. Hope it isn't bending and wonder if it can really handle 16" wide logs.November 2022 Update, have run a cord of live oak thru this splitter. Pro’s: fast, lots of power, strong engine, easy to move around. Con’s: track bar bent on one side, power ram has started to track/push right as it compresses the log, which is the side the track bar has bent, pretty loud, one of the plastic tires has developed a flat spot so it rolls lumpy.

OK, I will start with the bad news, the 2 ~5mm pins and clips to attach the control lever to the control block were missing so could not just put it together and get after it! Had to find suitable replacements and I am presently working with Amazon/third party seller to get the parts. BTW, the "contact seller" on the Amazon page is WRONG. had to go through chat to get help with these missing parts so will take a few days, I will post back if I get the proper replacement parts. So I thought the instructions and manual were good, no problems with assembly other than the missing pins! The splitter was well packaged but various parts had minor, cosmetic scratches. Not a big deal to most people, but I would prefer to have a new item without scratches and scrapes on the major components such as the hydraulic ram. There were questions on the oil capacities; mine took a full 2 gallons of hydraulic oil. Per other reviews they said "not quite 2 gallons". I put ~1.8 gallons in, checked the dipstick, then ran it for about a minute and shut it down. Once the hoses were all pressurized the dipstick was low and I put in the full 2 gallons, seems perfect. Ordered another gallon. the motor took about 1/3 qt of oil. Again, after running it for a minute I checked and topped off the crankcase oil too. BTW, started on the second pull! Restarted on first pull on a couple of restarts. So, to splitting; I was only splitting fresh cut pine, maybe 10" diameter max and in 15 minutes I split a bunch of wood! It is soft wood but splits great! I was happy with the speed of the "auto return ram". With a couple people you could crank out some split wood. I only have about an hour on the machine but I am pleasantly surprised on the assembly and operation. I would recommend this splitter for a home unit. Will see how it holds up long term but I am easy on my equipment and I anticipate it lasting a long time.As others have mentioned I had a small drip on the low pressure hose at the hydraulic pump after the first use. I tightened up the hose clamp and may need another or a better clamp, will see if is still drips, I hate drips!Nice item!

This worked much better than I expected. I was afraid it would be a cheap-o thing that a bolt would break on immediately or the frame would bend or something, but none of that happened. Did half-a-dozen cords of wood without struggling.

I purchased the Superhandy gas powered wood splitter about 1 year ago. Since the first time I used it I have been absolutely impressed with the splitting power of the machine, easily tackling the oak and ash hardwood I've needed to split. When a piece of wood is gnarly, the 2-stage pump kicks down to low speed and powers on through the wood. As long as someone doesn't have to split wood longer than 19" (that's the length limit of this powerhouse, compact machine) I highly recommend it's purchase, as it is a great value!Since my initial review, a part broke on the splitter. It did take several attempts to speak to a live person at the seller's number. However, once I did speak to a customer service representative, they went far above and beyond what I ever anticipated to assist me with part replacement. I will be a customer of GreatCircleUS for all my future equipment needs!

Powerful little machine. Easy to use. Splits huge blocks without any problems. Only thing is it is low for someone tall. One would need to mount and secure. But I’d buy again

Man I wanted a wood splitter for some time and this one is above what I expected it to be . Well built and exceptionally powerful
