I bought this for less common use case of transporting an OC1 and OC2 canoe about 4 blocks to the water. I could not find much information online about what carts would work well for that. Also the walk to the water is mostly pavement but also includes some rutted mud as well as grass, dirt, and sand. The no-air bicycle tires are perfect for pavement and they work well on dirt, grass, and sand. They are (as expected) not fantastic for soft sand but work well enough for a short distance.I can easily get the canoes on and off the cart. I position it rudder-down (toward the street) and with the rudder toward the back, where I push from. I position the cart just slightly to the stern of center so that the bow will naturally fall. This way I can be sure the rudder doesn't hit the ground. To go over curbs and bigger bumps I just have the other paddler pick up the the bow, or if I'm alone push it gently up.

[6 month review] This was my third kayak cart purchase, the first two were duds. We have two tandem kayaks with pedal drives. Each weighs about 100+lbs when fully loaded; this cart handles them no problem. On pavement, gravel, roots, doesn’t matter, no issues. The built in straps are 50% of the equation, and the other half is the bidirectional design. It also disassembles quickly so we end up just taking it with us on the kayak instead of walking it back to the truck. The only thing I would recommend is buying extra retention pins for the wheels or use a small wire to permanently attach them. I have almost lost these a few time while assembling the cart on the loading ramps. If you are in the fence, just do it, no regrets on our end.

This was easy enough to assemble although as other reviews noted, it's not really for quick disassembly if you want to take it with you. That's not an issue for us. But the padding on the support bar tops is slick and it's difficult to even hold a kayak in position to attach the straps. The padding does protect the bottom of the kayak, but some rubbery contact would have been better. The straps are a little wonky because it really acts like just one strap. The whole thing has to be fastened and tightened together. Once firmly strapped down, the kayak doesn't slip around and the caddy is certainly strong enough for your average size kayak.

I've tried a variety of kayak carts and this one has been the best. Well worth the extra few dollars.

This kayak cart/trolley great. Fits the bottom grooves of my kayaks and maneuvers great on the ground surfaces I pull mine on.

Hobie Tandem Island is a sailboat / kayak. Total weight is 240 lbs (with amas), and length of center (main) hull is 18'6". I used the Suspenz Kayak Cart Trolley to move my TI from a beach back to my garage (total distance about 300 yards). Worked well, not hard to balance, not hard to position cart under kayak, even by myself.Things to note about my experience:1. I removed the amas (which reduced total weight by > 50 lbs). (FYI - amas are outriggers). I suspect if I was to strap the amas to the main hull I could move the entire boat. Have not tried this yet, though.2. I only had to roll the kart + boat on sand for a few yards (I then reached hard ground). If I had to move through lots of sand, I'd probably opt for a kart with big fat (beach) wheels.3. Adjusting the bars to fit the tunnels in the bottom of the hull was easy, pretty painless. You flip the kayak over, and set the kart on it, and slide the bars to fit the tunnel position(s). Just make sure you don't have anything on the kayak that would get lost in the sand - before you flip it!4. The straps are good, with spring loaded cinch-up buckles. It's a bit goofy though, how they are arranged. There's a single strap that runs through the length of each rail, from front to back. It might be easier if you had a single strap on each of the four rail ends. (kind of tough to visualize, but not a huge deal in any case). All told, a good value, I'd buy it again.

This is my fourth cart (3 companies) trying to set up a functional cart trolley for my Pelican Catch Mode 110. As owners may know, the Catch Mode series has a "tunnel" hull configuration. This means that fitting a cart to a completely loaded fishing Catch Mode is challenging to say the least.Note: this cart has two configurations. This review is for the parallel mode and not the "cross" perpendicular mode.First determine the distance to set the bunker bars apart to align just into the edges of the "tunnel" (it's abourt 9.5 inches if memory serves). It's best to flip over your yak to do this. Now here is the key:Forget using the Suspenz straps in the way the instructions state. The reason is two-fold;A) The design of the "straps-through-the-bars" is a big pain in the you-know-where to adjust the fastening design above the gunnels. I feel this strap/bar arrangement was designed more for perpendicular crossbar use.B) More importantly, and crucial, is because the Catch Mode is a tunnel hull design, pulling the cart up into the hull snuggly is impossible with the through the bars straps. It won't happen, because you are pulling the bunker bars laterally "apart" left and right, and not vertically into the tunnel hull. The answer is to attach the two straps TO THE AXLE of the cart between the bracket mounts. This way, the straps, when pulled up above the yak the cart are vertically snugged into the tunnel hull corners. IT WORKS BETTER FOR THE CATCH MODE.I had long phone conversations, with Spuspenz customer rep, Laurie, to let her know my findings and she was a supremely helpful sounding board in this regard, as well as other cart points unrelated to this discussion. Hope this helps all you Catch users out there

Well designed and built. Clear videos to support assembly and the different configurations. The cart is supporting a Liteboat that is 25 feet long and 130 lb.
