Was not able to expand 4" to 3" Inch Galvanized Steel Round Duct Reducer. I had a 36 inch long 1/2" driver handle with socket and even with that much leverage it could not expand the 4" end of the duct reducer. If it cannot expand steel duct it will definitely NOT expand and type of exhaust piping. This may work on thin 20+ gauge tin or 20+ gauge copper or brass but nothing that is 20 ga. of thicker steel.Do not waste your time or money. If you need to expand a 18 ga. or heavier pipe look at either a hydraulic unit or better. It will cost more but it's better than throwing away your money on this useless tool.

The expansion bars are only made of the cast iron instead of steel.So...they shatter if placed under a load like you are trying to expandthe new thicker walled pipe that is now used. The video suggests toplace the expander toll into the pipe and progressive insert the the toola little at a time with the cast bars they will break before you are half way in.If the bars were steel this would be a great tool.
