About this item

  • Next Generation; Retain only one optimal gear position brightness; Reduce cumbersome manual adjustment; Standard hex wrench to self-calibrate coaxial problem; The spot shape is a dot not a grainy elliptical point
  • High-end module design; The module adopts high-end spherical module, high sensitivity and easy adjustment; Adopts 3-piece glued optical glass lens for stable spotting better focusing effect and less halo; Make the spot shape is a dot instead of a grainy elliptical point
  • Adjustable collimator; External effects of the product during transportation and use may cause off-axis problems; You can calibrate the coaxial problem yourself by giving away the standard hexagonal wrench
  • Full metal structure;High-end atmosphere; CNC precision lathe machining of the laser unit has a front opening from which the laser beam can be emitted
  • Resistance to sudden changes in temperature difference; The sudden temperature difference does not change the spot size; It is resistant to extreme cold weather and can be used under extremely cold weather of minus -30 degrees Celsius without affecting the use effect

Product Description

SV121 Red Laser Collimator

SV121 develops a new generation of adjustable module function technology, which can effectively solve the pain points of previous calibration eyepieces: solves different axis problems of calibration eyepieces

SV121 collimation eyepiece can be used for precisely collimating the Newtonian and Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector telescopes for crisp image quality

Aligning the mirrors seems easy enough, in theory, but in practice it can be difficult without the proper tools.

Allows you to calibrate your telescope more conveniently

SV121 sturdy laser unit allows you to swiftly and precisely collimate your Newtonian telescope. Only when the optics have been accurately collimated can the telescope offer you its full performance

Note: If the product can be used normally, there is no need to calibrate by yourself.

3 Adjustable Screws

Notice:

In order to ensure that you are seeing sharp image your telescope is capable of providing, you should collimate your telescope before each use. Additionally, you should collimate your telescope any time images become blurry.

1.Ensure that the secondary mirror is square ly under the focuser. You should see all three retaining clips for the primary mirror reflected in the secondary.

2.Use the 2’’ adapter sleeve if you intend to use 2’’ eyepieces and place the laser into the focuser with the window pointing towards the primary mirror end of the telescope and switch it on.

3.Wave your hand in front of the telescope and see if the laser is exiting without hitting the secondary on the return. Also look through the side window of the laser collimator to see if the laser is returning to the face of the laser.

4.Adjust screws 1, 2, or 3, or a combination to move the laser into the middle of the primary mirror centre spot.

If the return beam is not parellel with its origin, you will have to move the collimation screws on the primary mirror. A final test can be done on a star

I first checked this laser out on a V block and found it to be someways out of collimation and unusable in its supplied condition. I informed the vendor of this and could not see any collimation screws to adjust it. The vendor emailed instructions that stated that the laser was precisely collimated in the factory and not to adjust it and the collimation screw was under the label on the laser body. This is SVBony new laser collimator that is marked as adjustable on the box and comes with a hex key. On closer inspection there is in fact a removable ring in the center that exposes three hex collimation screws, the emailed product instructions and SVBONY seem unaware of them! I decided that the product should be returned.UpdateSVBony sent a replacement that arrived in excellent condition and well collimated. The laser works extremely well on my 18” Dob. SVBony customer service is first class and very responsive and I am sure they will update the instruction in the near future.

First impression is the Item is well made. I'm waiting for my telescope to arrive and do my first collimation and I'll update if something is wrong with the item. It's nice that it comes with a 2" to 1.25" adapter for use in a 2" focuser. Although the shape of the laser body will make it hard to verify the collimation of the laser itself, I'll be making a jig to test and verify the laser itself is collimated.

Nicely made, works for my reflecting(Mirror) telescope. Only problem is if your viewfinder has slop in it. But that has nothing to do with this item. My telescope is a Celestron 130 AZ Reflecting.

I received the laser collimator and it appears to be close to collimation out of the box. SVbony supplies your collimator with a hex key to adjust it with, but could not find anywhere on the device to insert the hex key to align the laser. I suspect you have to take the collimator apart to align it. The instructions has no information on how to adjust the beam. I am contemplating on returning it.

Seem to be pretty close (maybe about 1/8 "off) to alignment, after alignment with other alignment tools,I'll use this one for checking alignment outside or when its really bad, this one I will keep.....You cannot change the level of light, I guess they call this the Gen 2 .It's not a very tight fit on the 1.25 .... But acceptable ...Alignment on the 12 & 14" " by yourself this is needed. Its still a little lose in the 1.25" and 2" I'll try a expander and see if it will true up on the cap alignment tools (old timer tools) but will still keep it !after align the scope its off about 1/4" at 10 oclock and can work it around to almost to center after a real Alignment.... Ill wait and see when I get a expander for 2" and 1.25"....

I am a rank amateur in astronomy. I bought a Newtonian telescope that was more than I could handle but I planned to grow into it. I saw a lot of videos and comments saying that collimation was an easy procedure but I couldn't get anywhere. The scope came with a collimation cap but I couldn't do much with that. I tried a Cheshire collimator and that was not any better. Finally, I got this laser collimater and I was able to get the job done with ease. If you're experienced, maybe you don't need this and maybe I'll get there one day but, for now, this was a life saver.

This “Deluxe” laser collimator is simply TERRIBLE! Why?1. This “Deluxe” laser collimator came uncollimated / unadjusted with laser beam error from it’s axis in 5 centimeters for 2 feets range! This means if you try to collimate your Dobson telescope, you will make things WORSE than it was before with this “Deluxe” product.2. Ok, they say you can collimate it with 3 adjustment screws under cover ring.BUT! Adjustment screw simply drawn into adjustment screw hole as soon as I loosen it!! And there are no way to get it back!! Ordered tweezer in attempt to get this “drawn” screw back but not sure if this help...3. Wanna change battery? No way! Unless you have a coin. Of course in our 21 century everyone have lots of coins in pockets! Ughh..Can open battery compartment only with help of coin! Such a handy way to insert battery for this DELUXE laser product! Usability and ergonomics are so low..But what I really can’t understand - IS IT REALLY SO DIFFICULT to make normal solid convenient adjustment screws?? So users would be able to adjusted it via hand if needed?? Even if this would result into +$5 bucks more for price!Terrible cheap low / no quality product with weird name “DELUXE” in it
