I wanted a smaller RA finderscope on my Celestron 8SE to go along with a reticle finder. I didn't want anything too heavy and big since I now have two finderscopes on the SCT, and this is perfect. The view is clear and sharp. The objective is only 30mm as opposed to 50mm so the view will be smaller but it is accurate and is a good addition to the straight through reticle. It is metal and well made, and is black with red accents. I very much recommend this is an additional finderscope on your setup. If I was only using one finderscope, I would opt for 50mm, but with two, this smaller one is perfect. Product came well-packed.

Very pleased with this finder scope, it feels solid, is easy to adjust, and has good optics. I've been happy with everything I've bought from svbony so far.

I needed a light weight finderscope and this works well enough. It is solid enough mechanically, and the price is excellent. The optics on mine came misassembled, which I corrected (see below). After correction the optics are reasonably good except on bright objects, which result in starburst patterns. On the moon and planets little or no detail can be seen because of this, but the object can be clearly seen and used for centering with the finderscope, so it does the job.Generally speaking I need to slightly recenter the crosshairs at the beginning of each viewing session as they do not lock, which is typical of many finderscopes that I have had (but not true for all of them). That is easy to do and it holds well enough for a viewing session.The optics in the eyepiece portion came misassembled. On my copy it was assembled like this (| |) it should be |) (|.For anyone who has this problem, it is easily fixed since the eyepiece assembly unscrews from the diagonal, and the lenses and spacers come out after unscrewing the crosshair piece at the base of the eyepiece. Before the fix only the center of the field of vision could be focused, whereas once fixed most of the field of view is reasonably well focused.

I have purchased several of these for my astronomy club’s telescopes. The construction is well done for the price point and views are pleasant, making deep space targets easy to find. I have used this on 10†dons down to 6†dobs and find the correct image and viewing position comfortable. Pretty decent price in my opinion.

I've always used manufacturers provided finder, (usually a red dot lately). My latest used telescope came without a finder. Instead of getting the cheapest, I sprang for this middle of the pack 6X30 finder with diaganol. Wow, night and day, so easy to use, and the alignment is a breeze. I would definitely recommend !

I own two of these. The price, when on sale is quite reasonable for the quality. The scope is multi-coated and quite bright and has easy to see cross-hairs. Crosshairs can be rotated to match your preference. Focusing is done by rotating the objective and then locking in place with the red lock-ring (if using for astro, this only needs to be done once...)The issue with this finder is its mount and alignment system. (Mount itself is sturdy cast aluminum). The finderscope is held in the front of the mount via friction of a rubber ring. This ring seats reasonably well but is not rock solid. In the rear there are two adjustment screws and one "adjustment spring" The spring is "self-adjusting" (yes - not user adjustable). The spring just does not provide sufficient grip/push to hold the finder in alignment. The screws need constant readjustment to maintain alignment. This is such an obvious design flaw, yet I see this design being in used in many inexpensive finders. It does not hold alignment! C'mon SVBONY - the fix is so easy. Just do what I did - screw out the spring thingy and replace it with an actual screw. I had to find a bolt to fit the hole size and I tapped out new threading for that bolt. With three screws it holds alignment pretty well (although the rubber band at the front I am still dubious of. The second SVBONY guide scop0e I have is mounted in the traditional two rings and six adjusting screws manner - it works great that way,Overall - Nice finder and optics, but dubious mount.

This ended up being a terrible choice. I give it 2 stars. 1 star because it does mount to my telescope and a second star because it does magnify the sky but that is where I stop. First it comes with no instructions which would be helpful to know how to calibrate and focus this finder. Second, it doesn’t hold its calibration, it must be adjusted each time. Third, there is no protective covering on the rim of the opening you look into so to avoid bumping and scratching you eyeglasses, you must be VERY careful. 4. While it is a Right angle finderscope, it doesn’t easily locate the starting point in the sky. Since you can’t use a telescope just any night, only those when weather and seeing cooperate, the 30 day window to return this item has passed or I would return and choose a different one. For the above reasons would not recommend purchasing this finderscope at all.

Does not come with dovetail holder, but fits most standard dovetail holders. Extension arm is good length (approx 4†or 10cm) to provide clearance for your head to have room to use right or left eye for viewing without contacting your scope body. Easy to realign if required after bumping by accident. Cross hairs are properly perpendicular. Using red ring, it can be refocused to your preference and locked. Got mine when on sale plus applying an additional discount coupon. Good deal for quality of unit. Diagonal mirror is very clear and the unit is very lightweight and made mostly of metal with some plastic. Looks like good quality and goes with other Astro gear very well. Viewport diameter is under 1†and topside aperture is just over 1.25â€. Can see clearly through viewport but no rubber ring for glasses. Comes with two lens caps. A good product so far.

Standard dovetail mount, works like a charm on my ETX-125PE with a simple worm gear hose clamp all the way around it. A GREAT addition, and it's significantly lighter than an 8x50 unit.

After waiting a couple weeks for this to arrive, I opened the box and immediately saw the spring loaded screw pop out of the scope. I figured out how to put it back in, but also noticed that there was a rattling noise inside the scope itself. I looked through the front of the scope and immediately saw a fingerprint on the lens. It was obvious that this was a return! The lens rattled around every time you moved it so you could never lineup on the object that you were pointing at. Such a disappointment after waiting so long! I am definitely returning this.
