The mitten design is substantially warmer than 5-finger gloves and the 5-finger insert allows the user to put their hand out for detailed manipulation. When used in the mitten mode, it is highly resistant to penetration by water, allowing hand-clearing of snow-laden objects, such as a car windshield. The exterior appears to be highly resistant to abrasion and tearing as well.

I love these mittens, keep my hands very warm.The finger liners inside are an added insulation and if you needed the toaster feature allows you to pull your fingers out while still in the liners. Although if its something really quick I find it easier to pull the mitten off and on.

These were amazing gloves (mittens), and will remain my goto for sure. I just wish the inner glove was sized appropriate to the mitten.Seems like it's a universal large size regardless of mitten size. Still though, I wouldn't trade them for any other mitten, the versatility and warmth is worth it.

I tried these mittens while blowing snow and they kept my hands warm compared to the fleece lined cowhide mittens I usually wear. They are light and comfortable.

I’ve worn these for downhill skiing for several years. They always seemed too expensive for everyday though. With the extreme cold this year my husband complained his gloves were too thin. So I ordered a pair for him and a second pair for myself for general use in Minnesota cold. My husband loves his and I’ve worn mine tooon very cold days.Then I found out my brother had also bought a pair for skiing. He has trouble with cold fingers and loves these too.
