This pasta basket works really well. If you cook the pasta slightly less than al dente, you can set it aside and warm it later in a pot of boiling water. You can warm small amounts so you don't have to work with an entire pot full. We have found this works really well when we are entertaining. The basket is really sturdy and is easy to clean.We ordered it from Wasserstrom Restaurant Supply through Amazon. They were the only store that sold this device as a single unit. All of the others sold it in sets of 2 or 4 for restaurant use.

When I was deciding what sort of pans to get when I got married, cast iron seemed like an amazing idea. Durable, traditional, easy to cook with, something you can pass down to family one day....let's just say my mother was able to say "Told you so!!" Cast iron is heavy as all -- you get the idea. This pasta basket has been great and it is way easier to clean than a collander. I also don't have to feel like I've been lifting weights after cooking anymore, which to me, is a plus.

Looking for a replacement for a worn out hand sieve, Amazon suggested this one. We've tried it and it is excellent. Good quality construction and very easy to use. I just trained some soaked/dried peas for making soup and the shape, and long handle are very easy to use. And clean up afterwards. Recommended.

I bought this to replace another basket that finally broke after 20 years. A feature of that basket that I enjoyed was that it's handle was like a bucket handle and hung down the side so that it was smaller to store. This one is a little smaller capacity, but takes up more room in the cupboard. It is sturdy though.

This works perfectly for cooking pasta. When it's done, you just lift the basket out of the water, instead of carrying a large pot of boiling water to the sink and pouring it through a colander. Much lighter, easier, safer, cleaner.

This is a very nice cooker/strainer. On the larger side for more than one serving. But works so well. I highly recommend!

Heavy duty...great quality. I specifically purchased it for blanching (peas are just about ready to harvest) and thought the pasta use was a bonus. I found that spaghetti is too thin for this as they could escape through the holes of the basket. I'm sure all other pastas would work great. Gail
