I had a camera that would not connect to cell service at all in the location I had it. I ordered and installed this antenna and it connected and sends with almost full bars! I will be ordering these for all my cameras because it uses way less battery power than any of my other cameras now. Highly recommend!

It did make a difference in reception for the camera to send me pictures. It just sucks this isnt part of the original purchase. I have to buy a camera then pay more for an extra part so it will do what your box says it will do.

I have been having issues when trying to download videos. So I switched carriers from Verizon to AT&T. That improved my signal strength from moderate to strong on a couple of cameras ( I have 4). Still have issues with downloading videos. So I get this antenna thinking that since last years model (the "Chirstmas tree" version) didn't work at all that this would be an improvement. So after hooking it up, no change in signal strength at all. So bottom line, don't waste your money.

Had a cellular cam in a place that didn't get very reception. I ended up adding this and greatly improved my ability to retrieve my photos even in bad weather, I'd highly recommend addint his to a camera if you want to increase the range of it

I purchased this for a non-Tactacam brand trail cam. My camera was only getting one or two bars of signal strength with its rubber-duckie style antenna. This antenna increased the signal strength to three and four bars. I like the mounting versatility and the adjustable antenna. It seems to be somewhat directional because it took some trial and error with rotating the vertical antenna element before I achieved the best signal.I encountered a problem while installing it because the original antenna (and my camera) has an SMA connector (male pin), while this antenna has a reverse polarity RP-SMA connector (female socket). It's my understanding that the original SMA connectors are commonly used in cellular devices, while RP-SMA connectors are commonly used in WiFi devices. This is by design to avoid using a WiFi antenna for a cellular device (or vice-versa) which will not function correctly and can potentially cause RF interference in the environment. This antenna is designed for cellular frequencies and thus should have an SMA, not RP-SMA connection. I assume the Tacticam brand cameras are also using the wrong connector gender, so this would have worked as intended. In any case, for my application, I was able to order an inexpensive adapter, with male pins on both sides, which allowed it to work.
