The National Geographic maps are the best for hikers. They have all the roads and trails, but make the pedestrian trails very visible. They also clearly outline the different management zones (USFS vs National Park, vs Wilderness areas, etc). I highly recommend these!

I have used these maps for both driving back roads and hiking trails. the scale splits the difference nicely. The paper is very durable as well--thick and plastic coated to be water resistant.

Nice map was very helpful but had a little trouble telling the difference between public and private land. We bought it for hunting and didn't want to venture into private land. Shows all the back roads well. Will buy other areas also.

National Geographic leads again. Excellent map with current info. Easy to read graphics. Highly durable. Good for planning the next adventure!
