Just put it on today. Extremely easy to install. I suggest buying the metal upgrade if you plan on keeping your truck for some time. It seems extremely sturdy and I don’t have to worry about breaking it off like I did in sub zero temperatures. I use my truck bed quite a bit for being highly into the outdoors. Just have to see if it stands the test of time.

honestly, that is a great product. install was super easy. the entire new set up just fits in the same spot. The old hardware snaps into place and works well and as designed. Simple little upgrade to my truck

I decided to get the metal upgraded tailgate handle for my 2001 tundra. It was worth the little extra money. I read all the poor reviews for the plastic replacement ones. Make sure to lubricate the latches on the tail gate left and right side and inspect everything for proper function. If the tailgate handle is hard to pull you may have other issues to look into. I would definitely recommend this upgraded tail gate handle

After the original handle broke off, I looked at replacing it with another OEM but the cost was insane and they're still plastic. Then I found this one from TruBuilt1. It's all metal, seems to be well made with a perfect fit and finish. Straight forward install, I highly recommend!

We will see if it last and doesn’t rust. The lock fit perfectly. No issues. Handle that broke on the OEM is metal on this one. The rest is plastic. Five minutes job. 1st generation Tundra. Like someone else said, lube up all the moving parts when its open and clean the old lock.

Nice sturdy metal handle. I've broken 2 plastic ones on my truck and I think this one will finally last. My only complaint though is that the handle wasn't an exact fit for my lock. When I switched it over the pin that holds it in couldn't close. It was damn close and maybe mine was just a factory defect, but I wound up having to use a Dremel tool to shave off a bit of the lock so it would all fit together. Other than that very happy. Looks great and tailgate works better than ever.

My husband has a 2002 Toyota Tundra. The handle broke off and so he needed to replace it. This one did the job. It was easy to install and works great!

Order came on time, seems solid enough for the price but the mechanism was not aligned and slightly bent where the plunger slid under the mechanism instead of pulling it open.I’ll reach out to customer service to see what they have to say.

Did not come in a proper box and was damaged when we got it. We waited 2 weeks for this and now it's no longer available; which is the only reason I'm keeping it. Going to try and use parts from my damaged one to fix this new one I guess... I don't want a refund, I'd like a replacement before Easter weekend :(
