The TAISHER stainless steel gate valve is impressively made. It is stainless steel to avoid corrosion, and its tolerances are precise. I got this valve to control the water flow to some external hydrants which, while having the advantage of being 'freeze proof', lack the ability to infinitely vary the flow volume (they are pretty much either ON or OFF).Inserting this valve in line with the hydrants, affords the opportunity to modulate the flow with precision.I was impressed that when the gate valve arrived, I opened the valve and compressed air escaped, meaning that from the time it was manufactured until I received it and twisted the valve to raise the gate, pressure had been locked in the gaskets above the gate. This may be something intentionally done at the factory or maybe it was a result of me opening it at an altitude of around 2,000 feet above sea level. Either way, it had held pressure in its upper gasketed area from the time of manufacture, so I need not worry that it will leak up the valve stem when it is put into service.The fact that this is a "gate valve" rather than a "ball valve". PVC ball valves stick and can be hard to open and close. Brass and steel ball valves are easier to open and close, but they too are not able to meter flow accurately. They are designed to be fully open or fully closed. Not so with gate valves.Over time, ball valves can "stick", especially if used in a partially open position with can cause cavitation that can trap debris or if there is "seat deformation" over time. A gate valve can cause cavitation when partially open, but it does not rely on a rotating ball mechanism, meaning it is less likely to develop mechanical sticking or seat damage in high-pressure or high-flow situations.The TAISHER stainless steel gate valve is entirely stainless steel, unlike brass (case)-and-steel (ball) valves which can experience galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals, leading to premature wear, pitting, or failure in certain environments.

The TAISHER 2-inch Type 304 Stainless Steel Gate Valve is used in a spring-fed mini hydro power generation system on my farm. My little system produces 225 Kw per month rain or shine. This valve allows for draining the system for maintenance or shut it down completely, when necessary,The valve is made of quality materials and has perfect threads. I like the tight seal and the open flow. This valve is perfect for controlling the flow of water. I highly recommend the TAISHER Stainless Steel valve.

This valve is very stiff to turn and gave my hand a hematoma from the handle ridges. It had air trapped in the gate valve. When I opened it, it shot out like a bottle popping off. That told me it seals very well, the atmosphere pressure was trapped up to mountain level and got to pop here. It's a great price for a 1 1/4-inch metal valve, and it opens about 90% of the way, so water might be turbulent.

This 1.5" stainless valve is a gate valve with metal-to-metal seals on both sides of the gate. The handle is enormous, around 4" across. It takes about 12 turns of the handle to open the valve all the way, which gives much better flow control than a quarter-turn ball valve. However, compared to a ball valve the full-open area is not 100% and can make the flow turbulent (if that matters to you). See picture of fully open valve. The valve came with lightly greased gate seals, and some water trapped in the stem area (the stem area is sealed off from both inlet and outlet when the valve is fully shut). The valve is symmetric (non-directional).

This gate valve fit my pipes perfectly. it's a little stiff to operate, but that's perfectly fine, it's not like i'm opening and closing it 10 times a day or something. It seals shut well, and opens fully.

I need one of the for to stop the water from running out of the pipe when I disconnect the fitting. Very handy.
