First, I don't know why Amazon allows multiple products to be listed under the same page. This pastry wheel is listed along with several other different items. Most of the 870+ reviews are for the other items so it makes it very hard to filter for reviews for this one item. The number of positive reviews is very misleading.For the product itself, it's a waste of money. The packaging is so cumbersome. It took me a long time and a tool just remove the wire that holds the wheel to the paper board. The board itself is embedded in the wheel so I had to take the wheel apart before I could even spin it. Taking it apart to get the wheel out was not an easy undertaking either. It doesn't easily pull apart and getting it back together is just as challenging because there is not an obvious and natural way this all fits back together. Most things this simple shouldn't require me to look at the instructions (which were not helpful anyway in this case).Finally I got the dumb thing figured out and tried to roll it on my crust edges. It doesn't work to make a nice pretty edge like the one shown in the pictures and video. The dough sticks to the wheel and it doesn't move along very smoothly at all. I only was able to barely use it on a small part of my crust before I stopped because it was ruining it. I opted to just use my fingers. I didn't see any disclaimers on what type of dough this would work on, but that could have been helpful.I can't return this because I no longer have the packaging - let that be my lesson!But shame on Amazon for allowing multiple products to appear on the same product page. I will definitely have to be a lot more careful in the future.

I have not used this yet, but it got good reviews and I have found it more expensive on other sites. I have been wanting this appliance for a long time because I do not do well using either my thumb, fingers or a fork to make nice looking edges on my pies. I think that this would be handy to make fancy crustless peanut butter sandwiches, too.. that seal in the peanut butter and jelly.

I make pies all the time and I thought that this would help speed up my decorating time, while the press is "easy" to use, you leave the imprint on unbaked pie crust and it looks great and then once you bake, the design goes completely away. I tried it on several pies and pushed harder (which broke the dough as well) and that still didn't improve the design. I feel like this product has a good idea but the outcome is a waste. I do not suggest you use this and just do you simple fork or finger crimp. Super disappointed.

I wouldn’t lie and say this was easy to use. Until of course, you get the hang of it. It’s a bit fiddly, especially if you have flour or pastry on your fingers. If you persevere though, the end result is positively magical. It’s easy to clean and can be used with either hand. It gives your pies a professional look. Glad I bought it.
