These shafts are the ones supplied with my Target darts. I have used aluminum shafts in the past and found they would bend easily. The plastic doesn't bend but will split when hit by a close follow, the metal band I have cut off as well with a close follow. That said they work well enough that I prefer them over aluminum.

I am WAY overwriting this to counter what is currently the only other review of these stems on Amazon [two stars?? really?], and to hopefully save you the crazy amount of time I spent researching and finally finding the solution to my flighty flight and broken stem problem.the PRO GRIP stems are not designed to hold flights without locking stem springs. In fact, they come with them. If you put the spring on ahead of the flight it will give you decent snugness. BUT. If you buy a flight punch and stem springs you will experience the bliss I'm currently enjoying. By punching a calibrated hole in the flight and putting the stem springs in the flight before mounting it to shaft, you will enjoy a fit that is as snug as you could ever want. I normally Robin Hood a dart every fourth game of cricket or so, which results in a trashed flight and bent aluminum shaft. Since I bought into this it has not happened once in two months. I play everyday. I haven't bent over to pick up a flight or spent any game time with my readers and a pin knife trying to reshape my bent stems in a long while. "It's nice. Real nice."I usually prefer longer stems. and esthetically I miss the taper of regular stems. For a week or so I was consistently landing a couple inches ABOVE my target [I usually err south]. But I've adjusted and with a degree of objectivity believe my darts go straighter and faster, which allows for tighter grouping, fewer bounce backs and ultimately higher scoring.

Aluminum dart stems tend to bend when the dart hits the ground after striking a wire, or getting a bounce out. These survived several impacts on the ground and kept their shape.

I didn't even get to put my flight on it. It rolled off the table while changing out my other shafts, and snapped in one drop. The flight holder/segments also bend and break off easily.

I'm picky about my darts, these didn't disappoint. I use the punch and ring system with them and never had a flight pop out during a game yet.

I am a big fan of target stems, so when these came up for review I jumped at the chance.The spinning element is designed to help prevent damage when you 'Robin Hood' the darts.The stems seem to be pretty sturdy, which is is normal for Target, and (so far) they've held together well, even with some tight grouping.These should be good for players of all skill levels.

These are pretty much a standard in the darts world it turns out and after using them for a bit I can see why, the spin element is more than just a bit of a gimmick in my opinion and actually does a pretty good job at helping the darts avoid jump outs. For those unaware, the section of the stem where the flight slides in essentially spins freely from the rest of the stem, so if you hit a dart or nestle one in close to another, rather than forcing the dart over, the flight can just spin round to accommodate both in a tighter space. The spin isn’t like a loose cartwheel, it’s quite tight and it just shifts subtly but it works well. I have been getting on well with them and since trying these I’ve been checking out some of the other colours to fit them to my other darts too. They’re well made, don’t seem to break easily and I’ve felt quite confident in them which is a big thing. I figure even if the spin helps a small percentage of the time, that’s still a small percentage better than before so I’ll take it. I think they’re better than that though, they feel good. I like them and I’ll use them from now on.
