My laptop has a pretty high end graphics card, and anytime I play any kind of video or game on it, the internal fan maxes out and it still feels hot to the touch. With this cooling pad the internal fan never comes on, and the chassis feels room temp. Its a little on the bulky side, and the last one I had developed a very loud buzzing noise that made it impossible to use, but it worked like a champ for almost 3 years, so I bought another one (this is my second). Very good product, would buy again.

I'll keep this review simple. To those who own a thinline laptop with poor thermal distributions, get this particular fan. I purchased other ones before, but they are big, they are ugly and quite frankly, don't work well.My computer is an 13inch M2 Apple Macbook Air and those things are notorious for running hot, and the computer clocking down on the CPU performance.This is a perfect for the summer. Keep your laptops optimal without it sitting on an ugly cooling pad. The size is perfect, the fan is silent and the design simply works.

I had an older Targus cooling pad that's 10yrs old and still working great (but has been permanently borrowed by my kid). So I knew I was going to go with another Targus.It's super lightweight. This thing will keep your laptop cool. It will also keep your lap cool; which is nice since it's summer (let's see how I feel come winter). It's not very quiet. It's almost like a white noise (or when you hear your laptop's internal fan kick on but it's not hot air). It does get a little muffled when it's on your lap or if you put it on your bed but if you plan on using it on your desk, you'll definitely hear the fans. I do have to unplug it when on video conferences because people have commented they hear it.There are some other stuff that I wish Targus adjusted. I wish the micro-USB on the back was tucked under a bit more so that it's not just sticking out there and can snag, I'd say it's protrudes 1-inch from the back. The "over-sized rubber pads" they advertise to grip your laptop...I've seen peas bigger than these! They will stop your laptop from moving around, as long as it's level or on a very slight tilt but it could be my own laptop's rubber feet that's doing that. For as tiny and probably inexpensive to make these grips are...they could have put two more towards the edge that's closest to you.So all in all, it does what it says it does; it for sure keeps my laptop from even thinking about getting hot. Will I buy it again? Only if that was my only concern but probably not because I need something quieter.

Function and dimensions are perfect. Dual-fans are pretty quiet. However, I strongly recommend that you keep it plugged in. The plug on mine came unseated and fell back inside the unit after just a few months. Opening the unit for repair is nearly impossible.That said, I ordered an exact replacement. They’re reasonably priced and I’ve had good luck with this brand for many years. I would rather take a chance on another one of these than one of the bizarre Chinese brands on here. I will just be more careful and not unplug it unless absolutely necessary.I’m really sick of all the shady Chinese products on here. I’ve been bitten twice by flat out scam products, where the vendor was eventually banned. I buy less and less on Amazon because of this.

We bought 2 of these to keep our new Surface 3 laptops cool while in use. The first one worked fine for all of 3 minutes then one of the fans just quit then the other one started making a noise and started sticking, I decided to return it but not before trying both of them on our laptops The second one had a similar issue then got loud and one of the fans on the second one quit as well.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! These are the worst items we have ever ordered from Amazon and we're shocked we had this issue. It's a horrible cheaply built item very surprised Amazon would even sell such crappy product.

This pad don't have all the flashing lights or sensors, but it is a good basic pad that keeps my laptop cool and doesn't make much noise. Note: I have a 14" laptop and the 16" pad was a good fit.
