The keypad works great with a Chromebook. The Tab key is very useful. The long cord lets me put it on the right side and plug it into a USB port on the left side. The plastic clamshell packaging is slightly improved but still hard to open. The back is perforated about halfway down on both sides so you can pull it open, but that's not enough to get the keypad out. You still have to cut it the rest of the way with scissors. Once it's out of the package I have no complaints.

**Update - The 'Back, *, and /' keys have stopped responding completely. About that time to purchase another. This numeric pad functions perfectly with Windows 7. It is plug and play; Windows does install its own drivers. I chose this particular keypad to use with my left hand because having the TAB button in the top left corner was perfect for the data entry I do. My right hand doesn't have to move off the mouse now.My only personal dislike is that the keys don't feel all that comfortable to press. I miss a key entry more often that I thought I would. They're kind of in between a mac aluminum keyboard and a stock PC keyboard so... not shallow, low profile keys and, not high that requires really pressing the key. It will take some getting used to. Plus I still have to get my left hand coordinated well for it. Again, that's a personal thing. I still would recommend this product

After returning one of the less expensive versions since the "0" key didn't register unless you hit it really hard just in the right spot, I was extremely pleased with this Targus Number Keypad. It works great every time. I use it with my MacBook Pro Retina running Windows. None of the keys stick or have issues. It just works and saves a lot of time when working on a laptop without a number pad. The tab key is surprisingly useful as is the backspace key. I like the large "0" key and greatly prefer it to the ones that have the smaller "0" and the "000" keys. Also like the large enter key.If I could change/improve one thing it would be to have backlit keys.

This is smaller than a normal keypad, so you have to really be careful about your fingering if you do it by touch and not sight. The biggest problem, though, is that you really have to push hard on some keys, especially the 3, to enter the digit. I had another touch pad by Targus, but I can't find the wireless receiver so I decided to get this one. The other one was much superior to this one because of its size and ease in pushing the numbers; I could go fast with that one and count on the numbers being correct. With this one, I don't have confidence that my finished product will be accurate.

I partially chose this one because a reviewer said the numbers came off easily. A little bit of sandpaper expedited that process. This unit is sturdy, looks good, and is well put together (but still relatively easy to disassemble if necessary). I am using it as a controller for a PC-based TV system mounted to an elliptical machine; a remote control would be unnecessary. I painted over the number pad, and disassembled it so that the back could be drilled through and mounted. The hardware itself works very well, but I can't tell you how accurate/comfortable it would be for accounting use.

My job requires me to enter data a couple of times a week for periods of 10-14 hours at a time. My company provided number pad had many quirks and problems that I struggled along for years. I finally decided to upgrade on my own and purchased this inexpensive number pad made by Targus. The first week of use was WOW!! Why had't I made a switch sooner. Hundreds of entries the first week and it never missed a number. Second week the same story, I loved the comfort and accuracy of the number pad. Third week it started acting up at a time I couldn't miss. Fortunately I had my old backup and finished up with it. Tried it again the 4th week and the first day absolutely no problems. Day two the problems returned but I was able to take time to analyze what was happening. I was able to determine that the Enter key as sticking down causing it to run through the end of my entry fields. Each time it stuck I just touched it and it popped up. It became more and more frequent the longer I used it. Too bad because I was really happy with this number pad. Guess I'll have to try to find one that is a lot more durable.

I have had this for several months now, and it has performed perfectly. Very low price, but the product doesn't feel too cheap. It is very lightweight, and has traveled thousands of miles in my laptop bag through many cities and yet shows zero wear. Would buy again.

How to rate a keyboard?Well, looks good, well constructed, the cable is long enough for any situation that I can imagine. And most important, the keys "feels" good when you press them, not too noisy not too sticky... just right.I use a MacBook Pro Retina and this keyboard is a little taller than my computer, but not enough (In my opinion) to be a deal breaker.I would only change the glossy plastic, because that looks great only the first week, then it start to scratch and never again is the same (not enough to go for 4 stars IMHO)

Not much to say really, it has buttons that work. Does its job as intended.
