Been sewing since age 11 - decades. Thimbles never stay put. This go-round, I purchased two kinds, this and another thimble that were non-traditional. The other I knew would work, but in order to be "tough" it needs to be "stiff" and my fingers just never have enough movement ability on that right hand to keep speed and quality up. I saw this, and I jumped in to try it.This is amazing! Stays put, flexible as a 2nd skin, I don't really even feel it on. So comfy, and when I say the silicone stays put, I really mean it! My hand wears a S-M female leather glove, and this item fits perfectly for my need. Snug is good as I need it to stay put - it stretches with a lot of give. And the cap connected to the silicone, and the silicone itself, seem sturdy and not flimsy. Seems well constructed. Truly surprised. And to the reviewer that questioned the center band connecting the two, my only thought is that I appreciate that part so I don't misplace one end or the other!I did make one "wear" adjustment, but it cooperated with the change fully with no change in comfort or my use of it. On right hand, middle-finger and thumb: I put on the thumb as designed (bumps under thumb pad for traction grabbing needle. I slipped on the middle-finger part, but twisted it around 180 degrees so that the [lowest part of the hard cap/ridges] was located where I "push the top of a needle through heavy fabric/quilting/thick sewing". For those who don't have this item just yet, most of it is a silicone soft non-slip material, with the exception being a hard-plastic "cap" that goes over the finger-end to give some ability to push needles through heavy fabric. So we have two needs met with this build: Silicone that really (really!) stays put comfortably and does not impede hand/finger movement (but needles will go straight through easily), and a hard plastic cap tough enough to be the real thimble part. That "cap" is not very "tall" which is a plus, and it has uneven sides: One side is a bit taller with nice ridges in it, the other is shorter. Wearing it with that center band flat as it seems to be designed to be worn, it seems that taller nicely ridged side of the hard plastic cap faces up on my finger, not on the pad of the finger I use to push needles. That felt awkward but no worries: I pivoted that hard/ridged cap around to the part of my finger I push with. The center band twists a bit but cooperates, and in that way I sewed and sewed and sewed and finished my project so much speedier! Not one pin-prick in my finger. If you haven't tried this I highly recommend it.

I have always struggled with thimbles for hand sewing quilts. They slip; they’re often restrictive; and generally useless. This version is excellent. Comfortable, reliable. I highly recommend it.

Works quite well for gripping the needle to pull through leather, nearly as good as the scrap of leather I normally use.The hard plastic piece functioned better pushing the needle through pre-punched leather and raw canvas than I expected. Two things keeping this from 5 stars. First the connecting strap is about an inch shorter than I want which restricts my hand from fully opening. Second is the size is a bit tight and short on my big fingers, it would be better 1/8" in larger in diameter and 1/4" further up the fingers.

This product exceeded my expectations. Although it does make my fingers sweaty, everything about it is functional. It provides much needed. Finger protection provides grip on a needle, and the plastic thimble feature is handy.

I just couldn’t get used to the connecting strip, so I cut it off and use both thimbles.

My first thought when I saw this was "what a strange thing".Turns out, I love it! I do a lot of wool work, like candle mats, runners, and even larger works. This thimble really helps! When it gets tough to pull the needle thru multiple layers I can just pop the thumb piece on and pull the needle through. I don't use it the whole time I work since the piece that fits on my thumb tends to flop around. It is easier for me to use by putting it on as I need. If I'm at a particularly difficult place I will just leave it on.

Perfect for hand quilting my first pieced quilt. Kept me from poking my fingers with the needle a lot! Stayed on my small fingers nicely. Took some practice to find best positioning, but definitely worth the price!

Love that they're connected, great for grip and for pushing the needle through. Two things would make this perfect: somehow accommodating sewers who keep longer fingernails and having another push pad on the thumb because I have to let go of the pieces I'm holding together to use the pointer finger to push. Otherwise, my fingers are very happy to not get sore anymore.

The thimbles stay on my finger and thumb, the joining part doesn't get in my way and I can push and pull the needles with ease through thick material.
