Cheap and works well. I use it to center my mill spindle on a starter punched hole with a dial indicator. Helps when dealing with cast parts

After buying one of these tools fom another company which did not work for me at all, I was not sure what to expect here, at HALF the Price... What I got was even BETTER than expected .. very precise tool at a very good price. Buy with Confidence, excellent quality.

This reversible centering bit (1/4" and 1/2" shank diameters), along with router service, is also perfect for finding a center punch mark in the drill press, which I need much more often than router work.Guessing where a 3/8" bit will land on a piece of metal is difficult. This centering bit guarantees the drill will hit where you want.Excellent. Affordable. Nice little clear storage pouch to keep it from rusting.

I use mine to align wood pieces with the exact center of the spindle on my table router. It works well for that purpose after one minor modification. I wish I could give 4 1/2 stars instead of four. The tool is well made, but my only issue is that there is a tiny burr left on each tip that sort of interferes with perfect alignment for precision work. It’s an easy fix, though. I ran the bit at my router’s slowest speed, and used 80 grit sandpaper on a sanding block to sand down the ends to perfectly centered points. If you’re not using these for that kind of precision work, they are great right out of the box.

I use this to make custom router base plates for my routers. It marks the spindle center and is important when making sub bases with bushings.

If you have ever had problems getting the head set up accurately to drill a hole with your drill press, this is a fantastic aid. Chuck this up and bring it down to check if you are spot on. Take it out and insert your bit to drill an accurately positioned hole.

I’ve generally had a horrible time centering router drill bits for my mortising jig, where precision is extremely important. This centering bit has made it so easy! Put in the bit, put the router on the jig, lower the plunge router to mark the wood, and adjust if necessary. Since I’ve been using this bit, my mortises have been perfect. Highly recommended.

I think this is fine for router use but the one I received had both points non-concentric and also looked like the larger end had been dropped hard. The smaller cone taper has a tad of wobble to it but the point was decent (considering). The larger cone taper was accurate but the point was really off as well as dinged pretty hard. It may be because when they are parted on the lathe they drop into a bin full of other parts, but the end result on mine was a very non-precise product that is not suitable for true centering use with the points. Comes in a nice vinyl snap pouch and is otherwise reasonably nicely finished.
