Very excellent dial indicator set. Not"quite" as good as the old Starrett set I used in the shop before I retired, but plenty good enough for my home shop. Indicator action is smooth & precise, having a full inch of range in half thou. increments. Very strong magnetic base with on/off "switch" that works very well. Dial is in US measurements, NOT metric. I think about the ONLY thing that I might fault is that the support arm clamps & attachment screw for the indicator are a little touchy. They're either loose or tight. I can't seem to find a point where I can just snug things up but position things, then tighten to lock it up. I'm going to try putting a little Lanolin on the clamp screws & joints & see if that helps. Anyway, I'm tickled with this indicator set & I didn't realize I could get something this good for the price, or I would have had one a long time ago.

now i will preface this by saying that you get what you pay for the arm that holds the unit is a little weak and it does have a tendency to loosen very easily, which is why it does not get 5 stars just because it is that annoying to me, but the gauge itself and the magnetic base are what really redeem the unit, the magnetic base is very powerful and has no trouble keeping the unit grounded especially when i am zeroing out a drill press or saw. the gauge is also very accurate at least for what i am doing i have compared it to a friends starrett gauge and it has always been less than .001 in difference so for the money you are getting a decent gauge, the dial is not a sturdy and seems pretty touchy but always settles on the correct mark, may be a slight burr on the tip of the gauge or something that causes this but it works fantastically and does what i ask of it.

Dial indicator is precise to a half thousand inch. Magnetic base is extra sturdy. I use them to measure the end play of electric motors in order to select the shims holding the rotor precisely at the magnetic center of the stator when in operation. An impressive bargain for the price.

Very high quality for the price. Magnet turns on and off which is awesome. Positioning on the arm can be a little confusing but all the joints offer a lot of flexibility. You can spin the face to zero the gage and fine tune the needle position with the dial on the upper arm. Very nice product, thanks for offering it at such a great price. No case.

The product works well as intended. I had a little issue with one of the connectors, by the Supplier responded most promptly. Thus, the product is highly recommended. It was used to check the total runout of disk brake rotors.

First time to use one of these, so it took me a bit to figure out the best way to setup, but once setup, it was easy to check, identify issues, and once resolved check the alignment of the drill press chuck. Drills holes are much better than before.

I bought this to tune up my wood jointer. for the price I rate it three stars because it is pretty inexpensive and it did work. The reason i only give it three stars is that the dial doesn't really seem to be made for the magnetic base. It is fairly low quality. The hole on the dial is a bit large for the pin it goes into so likes to pivot/move. I put a lock washer on it and that didn't really help so i applied some layers Teflon tap to the part of the pin the dial sits on and then it was pretty snug. On the plus side the magnet on the base held firmly in the lock position.

it didnt hold up to coolant very well but i got a good 6 months out of it. keep in mind im constantly soaking it with coolant and hitting it with steel chips. its just there to let me know if the job moves
