Worked well, not meant for bigger projects, and needs a moisture filter. A bit tall for tight spaces and trouble working when angled upwards. Tank lasts 3-5 minutes per fill up! Fittings Glued directly into plastic and cracked glue when installing couplers... had to use teflon tape to stop leak! Use 2 wrenches when installing or tightening fittings! Pressure valve was handy and worked well for adjusting sand flow. Pressure gage didn't work at all and filled with sand from use! I bought 2 so I have parts to fix gun when needed!

Bought this to replace a larger portable sand blaster. Wish I had bought this first. Worked perfect. We restore vintage claw foot tubs and frequently need to remove paint from the outside casting. Great for this application.

I was able to hook a water separator and hose to the inlet of the included regulator, but air leakage made it unusable; it leaked copiously from the regulator top to gun as well as where the metal adapter threaded into the gun.As others have mentioned you cannot attach a normal air fitting directly to the adapter in the gun. The top connector on the regulator uses a flare fitting but the double-sided male adapter in the gun is so poorly machined that you cannot get it to seal. The threads on the adapter are poorly cut, looking more like Acme threads, while the nut on the regulator top connection (the flare) look decently cut; they do not like being screwed together. The adapter has a vague depression that might have been intended to receive the flare on the regulator but it is off center, irregular, and has a partial groove that lets the air escape. The other end of the adapter screws into the gun; threads directly into the plastic. it appears to be pipe thread but doesn't quite match 1/4 NPT; I tried threading in a brass male-male 1/4NPT into the gun and it tightened up way too quickly and I didn't want to risk stripping the plastic threads. So I doubt I can just get a fitting at the hardware store but will try. If I can find one and if the air leaks can be minimized then I may raise the rating for this blaster. The only good thing is that even with all the air leakage, I did briefly try using it for soda-blasting a carburetor body and a painted plastic surface and it actually worked to clean those surfaces. So hopefully it can be made to work despite the terrible machining.Added 8/13/2024 - I found the part needed to replace the terrible adapter. Tru-Flate 21-595 Ball End Adapter, 1/4" MNPT - 1/4" MNPS. It is a brass part and, while also made in china, is properly threaded and has a properly machined flare to match the one on the regulator. Using pipe sealant on the NPT male end that threads into the plastic gun, there's no detectable leakage on the output side of the regulator. The input side till hisses despite having teflon tape on the NPT threads there (also poorly machined on the regulator) but not enough to cause problems.A brief soda blasting test worked better than the previously, mostly due to more available air pressure.

I bought this to remove rust from the chassis of my truck while I redid the suspension. The sand blaster was constantly getting clogged, forcing me to hit the side it it to blow sand. It doesn't blow sand at all when pointed upward due to the way the gravity feed is designed. But for the price, it got the job done even though I was getting frustrated.

Nice blaster. Simple, and easy to use. You need a lot of power to use this.

It has a cheap feel but was rather cheap. I recommend if you just need to do a couple sanding jobs a year. I'm not sure how it would hold up to daily use. it was nice to complete my project without having to spend a lot on a spendy unit.

First off; I have never used a sand blaster before. I bought this to clean carbon and stains off the exterior of aluminum small engine cylinders. I bought a box of #10 (very fine) glass beads to try with this blaster. I have a 25 gallon compressor and it had no problem supplying enough air for this small task. I must say, this blaster and the #10 glass beads worked excellent. It didn't damage the cylinder, but cleaned it very quickly to like-new condition. And I only used about 1/2 of the hopper to do 1 cylinder. The blaster itself was easy to assemble. The regulator attached with no issues, and I attached a standard air fitting using some teflon tape to the regulator - also with no issues. I found I only needed to turn the hopper valve on half way to supply enough blast media to do the job. I also found that the fine glass beads with drain out of the hopper just by gravity if the hopper valve is fully opened. As for PPE - I wore an N95 mask, safety glasses and a full face shield. That seemed to be adequate for the job I was doing. I did the blasting in the front lawn as I didn't want that fine blast media anywhere near the house. I used so little that there was no trace of it on the lawn when I was finished. For my purposes, this blaster gun is excellent and I highly recommend it for occasional cleaning of small parts.

Purchased this tool to blast the paint off an aluminium fence gate which had become flaky. Picked up a bottle of Ozito grit from Bunnings for $5 and put it to work with 100psi compressor. It did a great job and worked better than expected. Also easy to use. Would recommend for light domestic work.
