This TDS meter appears to provide reliable measurements. I ordered it to compare test results with another brand of meter I'd recently purchased, but was unsure of. When testing water right out of the tap with this other meter, the reading first appeared as 43, then immediately went down to 38. Then it went up to 39, and flickered back and forth between 38 & 39 until finally holding steady at 38. Then I tested water that was filtered through my ZeroWater system, using a new filter. I've been using this system for ten years, so I know that a new filter will remove all Total Dissolved Solids, with test results of 000. The other brand gave me a reading of 001. I retested a few times, and the result was always 001.Next, using the same glass of tap water as the source, I tested it with the NATFORTREE meter. The reading was instantly 35, and remained steady at 35. No fluctuation! I then tested the same source of ZeroWater filtered water with the NATFORTREE, and got a reading of 000.Based on my experiment, it appears to me that the other brand's numbers are a little high. It could be that it's a WAY more sensitive instrument, and that's why it measured the filtered water at 001. But it couldn't seem to "make up its mind" before settling on a measurement of the TDS in the tap water. I like how the NATFORTREE made a "decision" immediately, and never wavered. It left no doubt that the reading was correct. So I believe the NATFORTREE provides the most reliable reading, and it will be my go-to from now on.

I am adding this TDS meter from NATFORTREE to my procedure during lake weed treatment next year. While TDS is not expected to be an issue, it appears to be easy to do and it will help assure the community I am monitoring everything. I like the simplicity of this meter. If I detect an anomaly, I am sure I'll be stepping up to a higher precision meter. I'm pumping samples up from 3 different depths and then running a battery of tests of each sample before and after treatment.

This blue Natfortree TDS digital TDS meter is worthwhile for households or hobbyists that don't need high precision. It is very simple to use: press the power button and stick the end in the water. Instructions are limited, and say to immerse not more than 4 cm; it would be helpful if this was marked on the meter. Reading is nearly immediate and stable. I tested rain, tap, pond, and reverse-osmosis treated water repeatedly and found them all within expected ranges for the water type. These ranges are not provided with the meter, so you will have to refer to a reference table which are widely available. Instructions did not show how to change the battery, or what kind it is.I did multiple tests on the same sources (with different samples) over the course of a day. While the results were still within ranges expected for water type, they ranged widely (e.g., (~10 ppm for RO water) from previous samples of the same source. Thus I am not sure how accurate this would be for testing when you needed to change a water filter depending on what is recommended by the filter.

I was curious about the purity of my tap water, so I figured I'd give this a try. The meter almost instantly shows TDS measurements, and it is consistent. I must mention though, to take the results with a grain of salt (don't take it too seriously) if you're using it to test purity of drinking water. This is because TDS does not discriminate between beneficial substances such as calcium and magnesium vs harmful substances such as mercury and lead. So it's important to use a proper water testing kit in that case. However, if you're using the TDS meter to test purity of distilled water or for other purposes, it can be a very useful tool, and if you have doubts about the purity of your water following a natural disaster, for example, this meter will provide quick and convenient information.

Needed this for my zero water pitcher. Ever since we bought the pitcher, my kids have become quality conscious of water taste now. Only problem with zero water is that when the filter go bad, the taste and smell of the water is really bothersome but the thing is, you can’t tell until it’s too late. It’s weird because you can tell that the water is bad already but for some reason, you’d like to have the tester to validate for yourself :D. Hopefully this tester will last for some time. I just wish there’s a way to replace the battery but I can’t figure it out yet. Anyway, I’m glad that I was able to find this and the price is affordable.

These meters are very delicate. Second one that didn’t work, even with new batteries. Too lazy to return it….

If you’ve ever wondered about the quality of your water, the NATFORTREE TDS Meter is here to provide you with answers in a snap. This portable digital water tester is a game-changer for anyone looking to check their water quality, whether it’s for your household tap water, a swimming pool, or even for the aquaculture industry. What I love about this TDS meter is its simplicity. It has a clear, easy-to-read display that gives you instant readings on Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in your water, with a measurement range from 0-9990 PPM. Whether you’re testing the water for your aquarium or making sure your pool water is safe, this tool gives you confidence that the quality is just right. It’s small, lightweight, and incredibly easy to use—just dip it in the water and get an accurate reading in seconds. Plus, the blue color is sleek and vibrant, making it easy to spot in a toolbox or drawer. The only minor downside? It would be great to have a more detailed guide on interpreting the results, but that’s a small issue compared to the benefits this tool brings. If this review helped you find a tool for checking your water quality, be sure to give it a thumbs-up. Stay hydrated with the best water quality!
