I live in a VERY hot area and, with climate change, it's getting even hotter more often. I'm not sure where I read it, but the back of the neck is a good spot to help cool the entire body. My wife and I have been using these "neck coolers" for years. It is best to buy 2 for each person because you wear 1 while the 2nd one is in freezer ... and just swap them all day. I work from home, So, between overhead fans and this neck cooler, it saves me quite a bit on AC bills. My wife used it when she was going through menopause and said it made a huge difference for her. She slept with them as well to help with her night sweats. So, we recommend this item ... it has worked for us.

The cooling packets are pretty good, but since they are smaller they don't last as long as the ones in the vest--as expected. As far as the design goes, there are some massive tags on the back that are annoying, the large branding on the front, and a lot of fabric that serves no purpose. You also cannot securely snug the band around your neck due to the placement of the vecro on the end of the useless fabric flaps. I think someone was more concerned about trying to make this look stylish over pure functionality (hint, you don't look stylish when wearing this--people were laughing at me--but at least I was a "cool" dork when it was 112 degrees out)
