I've used several items from Tekton over the last many years and generally you can count on them to be decent or better than decent - they take some time to do more than rebadge catalog items like many import vendors do. I've had some Tekton duds and usually will choose higher quality tools but all in all they're a good mid-priced brand to look to first.I got the smooth jaw version of these pliers and really they are great - not perfect but no reason not to give them a solid five stars. I may get the serrated version too. Seems like good quality tool steel and it's surprisingly well ground and finished - no burs to clean up and the edges are clean and sharp (I chose to break the edges on mine a little but it's not necessary...takes just a couple minutes with a stone and a file wasn't needed).I didn't notice that these are just 5" instead of 5-1/2" like the others in the line, but they'll do just fine. If you need a longer fuller grip go up to a normal 6" version somewhere. The coated grip length on these is just shy of 3".The tip width is 1/4" and that tapers up to 5/16" at the base of the jaws. They are about 3/64" thick, which sounds pretty thin, but they are strong and totally adequate. Full jaw length is about 1-5/16". Width across the pivot on that surface is about 1/2".As stated in the description, there is indeed a very small gap along the length of the jaws, and that can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on what you need. The tips meet for just a few millimeters before the gap gradually opens up. The widest part of the gap on mine is just about 0.23mm (around 9 thou with feeler stock). I can only see this being a drawback if you're working with ultra thin foils or similar - otherwise it's a good feature for better grip along the length until the material gets thicker. I've used pliers like this for peeling away nickel strips when disassembling battery packs and the gap on these pliers is still ok for that - not too large. These pliers may not be great for that purpose with their sharper edges if you want to roll them in use, but it's easy enough to chamfer or round them over if you want. The spring action is excellent, not too stiff but just stiff enough to reliably open them, very similar feel to top quality electronics pliers. Given the short handles I expected it to be easy to pinch skin in the pivot but surprisingly that doesn't happen - great. I do wish the grips came up further toward the pivot for insulation (they could add about a half inch of grip and shouldn't interfere with the spring, or go to a molded grip and stretch a little further up).Anyway, these are surprisingly great quality pliers and I could hardly believe that I didn't need to clean them up out of the box. If they aren't tooooo small for you, I'd highly recommend them.

This is almost perfect. Well made with nice a spring mechanism (maybe too tensioned) and operates smoothly. The tips are not perfectly aligned, but close enough. Still 5-star IMO.

When on a budget, it's tempting to buy cheap tools or make do with the wrong tool. I was looking at these for a while before pulling the trigger--glad I did! These have already been not only useful to me, but a pleasure to use.I've been working with small split rings a lot (on jerkbaits and fishing lures) and these things are freekin great for that. The bend is perfect, the handle just right and jaw serrations hold well--love the spring- loaded feature too.Besides, these are not expensive! Whenever I'm on the fence on whether to invest in more tools I just ask myself is it going to get used and will it last? If the answers are yes, I eventually go for it, and this tool is a good example why.Update: after using these several times I've noticed some wear on the jaw serrations--still a handy tool but the steel is just OK quality.

These needle nose pliers are very well machined and they seem very solid and usable. The jaws meet and close precisely without any gap and their operation is smooth and without any side to side play. The covering on the handles is flawless. You will not be disappointed if you buy this item.

These are great! tips are small and have grooved gripping surface. Will pick up 22 gauge wire. Not 90º, but very useful. Lovin' this one!

Angled needle nose pliers are something you might not realize you've needed...right up until you use a set. These are tight, they grip, jaws line up, and the spring return works great. Oh, and the price is great and it's not made in China. That's a win! Nothing to complain about.

made alright but just one hard screw removal messed up the jaws serrations pretty bad.the screw metal appears to be harder than that of the pliers.go with knipex if you can afford it

These come to a pretty sharp point and they have a cross hatch grip which is nice.

In my opinion, they are undoubtably Snap-on quality pliers, at a fraction of the cost.
