Your cart is empty.The Tekton 20-Piece Punch and Chisel Set with Pouch has four punch and chisel types that are carefully machined to meet exact tolerances: pin punches, solid punches, center punches, and cold chisels. Each punch and chisel is individually heat treated to harden and strengthen the tip while maintaining the soft temper of the striking end. The striking end absorbs hammer blows without chipping. Each tool is made from 5160 high carbon steel and finished with a dry, rust-preventative coating. The sizes are marked with a high-visibility laser marking. All Tekton punches and chisels are made in the USA. Carry your punch set anywhere with the compact roll-up pouch that keeps punches well-packed and unable to slide out. The pouch is specifically designed for the punches and chisels in our 20-piece set. The polyurethane-backed 600 x 600 denier polyester is both abrasion and tear resistant, and has a durable water repellent (DWR) coating.

Definitely a good set, and made in the USA too. The punches are all straight, sized correctly, and round. The hex shaped handle portion is well made and free from burrs. The business end of every punch is square and has well made corners without burrs, although the larger straight punches have very slight depressions in the center. The shafts of the punches all show some circumferential machining marks, almost a feature of tools at this price point. The included wood block is a decent piece of walnut that is free from knots or other defects with laser etched marks next to the holes for each punch.Some small issues though. The set I received had 2 of the same tapered punches, but Tekton's excellent customer support immediately sent me a replacement without any issue.The other is the finish on the punches They all have a sandblasted type finish, and are thus not smooth. This leads to some extra friction if the punch is slightly angled going into a hole or when using them to align parts while you slide a pin through a complex assembly (never as a drift punch though). This is expected at this price point though because polishing is expensive and time consuming, and I'd personally rather have a 9/10 American made set than a 10/10 Chinese set.Bottom line: They definitely won't be confused for Starrett punches, but aren't any worse than Craftsman punches. I have no doubts about the durability and usefulness of the punches if used properly.

This is a terrific and complete set. I've used it on various firearms and am very pleased with the quality. The base is nice, though one of the holes was under-sized for the punch that was supposed to go in it - overall a minor detail.A roll-up-pouch would be better, but neither complaint is enough to knock a star off an otherwise excellent set of tools.Add a Fixxer 4-piece roll-pin starter punch set (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0191RFK4I) and you have a pretty complete set of punches.Update - June, 2019. See pics - the steel on the smaller punches didn't turn out to be as hard as needed. These were the results of straight taps - not heavy hammer blows, but repeated taps.The larger punches are ok, for now, but I'll be looking for alternatives to replace the smaller ones with.Another Update: I called Tekton support and they replaced the damaged punches within a couple of days, so giving them back the stars for great customer service!

Tekton makes a lot of tools in Taiwan, but this punch set happens to be made in the USA if that is important to you.The punches themselves are well made and packaged for shipping. I think it was the wood block that impressed me the most. Obviously made with sharp tools, probably a laser, and hardwood. Very, very nice. Lots of substantial punches made with care. Quite impressed.

TEKTON Punch Set: Been using my first set for a few years. It has worked great for me. I am not a heavy user, but some of the things I do with it have required some good pressure. I did bend the 1/8th punch, but it was my fault. Considering how much force I put on it, I am not surprised it bent. I bought another Tekton to replace it. I am happy enough with the set, that I just purchased another set to keep in my garage as I am tired of hauling it back and forth.

I'm a certified armorer for work on the side. I have gone through many different brands of punches finding out how important a quality punch is. I've bought "value" priced punches to find the steel easily nics, deforms eliminating the once flat surface. I have always like TEKTON tools for the garage but never thought about if they made gunsmith tools. Once I saw this set I bought it not caring what the price was. TEKTON tools in general have out performed my snap-on tools in the garage so why would it be any different with these. Well I was right, these punches are amazing. They feel great in the hands and allow for those finesse jobs to happen easily. Very strong and how could you not like the wood block they come in. Great job TEKTON, I'm a loyal customer and constantly point people towards their products. MUST HAVE for any armorer/gunsmith either in a professional environment or as a hobbyist.

I received the punch set recently and upon opening it gave it an immediate quality check just to make sure there were no issues based off one of the other review that mentioned they received some sub par parts. Overall I was pretty impressed with the quality to price point of the set. There were three issues that I found after looking at each punch:1. The center punch was somewhat off center.2. The largest roll pin punch had a noticeable bend in it3. The largest pin punch had a dent in the face of it that pushed a little bit of material outFor problem 3 I simply ground down the punch on one of my sharpening stones as that should alleviate any problems with that. I contacted Tekton about the other two and after providing photos they opted to send me replacements. They couldn't quite tell through the photos that they were defective through the photos but they were indeed a problem. I received the replacements today and the center punch is more centered and the large roll pin punch is perfectly straight when putting it next to the defective one. There was a clear indication that something happened to the defective one during the machining process as the machining marks were not the same. There was a groove on the defective one that indicated where the bend started. Without taking in to consideration the excellent customer service I would probably rate these punches a 3 star but Tekton made it right. I would suggest to them that they do a better QC before shipping out their product.

I love Tekton as a brand. I've bought a bunch of tools from then before and they have all been hight quality. These chisels and punches have really let me down though. My first thought when I got them was they are a little too short. Making then half a inch longer would make them easier to hold and handle. When I eventually ended up trying them out, they just couldn't hold up. The punches were fine for the most part. The chisels on the other hand were not. They would bend and the tips would roll off with every hit. Unless u like sharpening thing after every single use, I would look elsewhere. Spend a little more money and get Mayhew punches, or if u can really strench your budget get a set from Gray tools. Spend the money on a good set and you'll never need to replace them.

Ces chasse goupilles au diamètres US sont de très bonne facture. Le socle en bois massif qui les accueille en position verticale est légèrement bruni à la lampe à souder. Cela reste en accord avec la qualité du métal employé pour les outils.Si vous aimez les armes et que vous ne souhaitez pas les abimer avec n'importe quel outils, c'est ce qu'il vous faut.
