I started doing hand embroidery before I was a teenager and I turn 69 at the end of this month, so that is a lot of years. I have won blue ribbons for my embroidery. I have a lot of reference books on hand embroidery as well. I have seen a lot of so-called beginner's kits that aren't really beginner's kits. When I saw this listing and the photos, I knew I had finally found an excellent beginner embroidery kit! I knew that if it came as advertised it deserved 5 stars. And it did. Everything came as promised. The only thing I would have included in the kit is some thread snips or embroidery scissors. I had plenty of those, so added some pretty embroidery scissors to my kit. Once you have succeeded in making up all the sample stitches, you can keep adding more 'pages' to the stitch book to keep track of what you are learning.This kit didn't hold back on supplies either. They choose DMC embroidery floss as the floss to make your stitches with. There are only a couple name brand embroidery floss companies and the best is DMC, in my opinion. It is 100% cotton, 6 ply, 8m long. It is the hallmark when using floss. If you have gotten other floss along the way and wondered where the numbers on it came from, most likely that is the number for the same color in DMC. DMC has somewhere close to 400-500 different skeins of embroidery floss as well as other types of embroidery threads such as pearl cotton. So with this kit you are starting out with the best thread/floss. You also get a bamboo hoop instead of a plastic one. The kit was packaged so nicely as well. The needle threader is beautiful. I can hardly wait to try it and hope it is made so that the wires are secure and don't pop out. I have never seen a needle threader this beautiful before this. The seam ripper is made by Clover another important sewing notions company. As someone who has sewed by machine and by hand for well over 50+ years, I am impressed by the high value items in this kit. Having good supplies helps a beginner to have great success in whatever project that they are taking on.I am very glad I got this set and got to give it 5 stars (it deserves 9 out of 10 for no thread snips if there was a 10 scale). With only 5 being the highest number I can give I didn't take off for no thread snips as I knew there wouldn't be one. I hope you enjoy trying out this kit and get a good start in embroidery a very nice hobby to have for relaxation, stress reduction, one that can be taken all over. Something you can do for a lifetime.I appreciate the opportunity to try out this kit. Thank you.

This is a nice way to learn some of the different stitches of embroidery. Using anywhere from 2 strings to all 6 strings. This book, once finished is a wonderful reference for anyone from beginner to experienced. It has a spot to hold your hoop, and strings and any other supplies. A friend of mine liked it, so ordered one and she has been embroidering for a while.

I love this embroidery set. It’s a level above other sets with its book setup, with storage areas for the hoop and the thread. It’s clear there was a lot of thought and love put into this set from how it was packaged to how well it works. I just wish there were options to buy more “pages†to put into it - I like having the sampler but would love to also full it with more projects. The instructions are very clear and don’t seem to be copied from the same single source so many other kits use. Definitely recommend for a beginner!

As someone who is interested in embroidery but feeling overwhelmed this kit was perfect. It is impressively packed in a nice little mailer with those old school string loop closures. Inside is a small "binder" with felt or cloth pages, lots of different colored threads (I guess they call it floss), a needle and patterns/instruction booklet. There are also QR codes and inks to a Youtube channel with video tutorials. It teaches the common stitches then has to practice them to make pictures like flowers. Very cool!

I am learning (trying to) embroidery to help with my amigarumi. I just can not get the faces right. This kit will not only help but it is cute while helping. The kit comes in a thick brown envelope with a seal sticker. You open it up and put the stitch book together and you are in awe from the start. It has comes with detailed instructions and it comes with a stitch guide. Everything that comes in the kit will fit into the felt book. This is great for beginners like me and those who want to have a cute reference of the stitches. I suggest getting this kit if you want to learn the basics of embroidery.

Great kit for beginners or for those refamiliarizing themselves with embroidery. This is a great kit; beautiful colors, sturdy canvas with well-done grommets, durable book cover, etc. - I highly recommend this as the manufacturer intends - as a beginner's learning tool or as a refresher for those with some experience, and then as a resource after completion.
