Note: When the scan result is different from the actual number (e.g. extra characters appearing at the front), conditionally, the barcode itself is as it's scanned. It's not the quality or scanning issue of the scanner itself. Tera scanners can be modified with a setting code to hide the extra characters, please see the manual or consult us for details.
Ergonomic Design -- Several design elements are integrated into the upgraded Tera L5100Y. The scanner handle is extended by 0.3 inches (8mm) and thickened, along with the specially designed curve, making it much more comfortable for US customers to hold this product for a long time. The trigger is designed to be smooth and flat for a better grip feeling.
Anti-Shock Silicone – The orange anti-shock silicone provides complete protection for your scanner, avoiding collision damage or break while falling off your desk or shelf. IP54 technology protects the scanner from dust.
Support Extended Functions
- Support extended functions such as adding or hiding characters, add prefix and suffix, etc.
Support 25 Languages
- Support multiple languages including English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, etc.
- To get the correct output, make the scanner's keyboard language consistent with your computer's keyboard language.

We purchased a handful of these to perform a full warehouse inventory over the course of three days. Zero complaints. The scanners were all plug and play, operated and started scanning right out of the box without any setup by the staff. Scanning was accurate and the readers were able to capture very very complex/small barcodes that our normal warehouse scanners would struggle with. That was a huge plus and saved us a ton of time from manual input. All serials and barcodes were scanned and we had a 98% inventory accuracy at the end of the run. The 2% variance was all human error. I have made this scanner my go-to now that inventory is complete and we are back to regular warehouse work.

PROS: Looks just like the picture which is why I did not upload a picture. The USB cable that comes with the scanner feels very solid. There is a Green light on this scanner that lets you know it is ready to go. The sounds this scanner makes let you know that your scan was successful. This is a 2D scanner and will scan QR codes. After coached by the vendor about being able to use any software with this product a bell finally went off in my head. If you don't put the cursor in an input space on your computer the scanner has no place to send the information from its scan. Once that was figured out I was off to the races. The manual is a simple set of bar codes for the scanner and I have a feeling that they will change the settings inside the scanner. I'm so new to all this after testing a few I scanned the reset code as this scanner like most electrical devices is faster than I am. Part of a product testing is vendor support and I feel that with this product you will get it.CONS: My own ignorance, but the vendor was patient.Yes I'd buy this again if I needed one and recommend to a friend.

I have purchased about 20+ of these now and they seem to work really well. Easy to setup. I have had one or 2 go bad but for the price, I don't think that is horrible. There tech support is nearly nonexistant.

The configuration codes in the official operator's manual don't do anything. I've read extensively and there is no solution. I then tried downloading a utility provided by Tera's website. Their config utility is buggy and written in Chinese. Doesn't work. After updating the firmware the scanner stopped working and inputting any characters. The config utility won't let me change any setting and it keeps crashing. I can't reset to the factory defaults. I'm not wasting my time contacting technical support because i need this to work for my business. I'm going to just throw it in the trash and buy a scanner from another competitor. One that actually works and one where i don't have to spend 5 hours pulling hair out of my head to get working.Honest as usual!

Great price, pretty good feel in hand. Accuracy is lacking though. Has a hard time discerning individual barcodes when they are close together, like on hard drives. But, it beats having to enter them by hand. Worth the price.

I can't speak for the other reviewers but it works perfectly for my application. If there are any other mechanics (specifically Mercedes technicians) it scans the QR sticker for headlamp adaptations and battery logs flawlessly. Highly recommended.

When used in USB-COM mode, scanner is accurate and works really well. This is the only mode I need, so it works well for my purpose. I would provide a good rating here BUT...When used in USB-HID Keyboard mode (the default), lower case letters becomes upper case and numbers becomes symbols, randomly. It's appears that the device misses or adds the shift-modifier incorrectly while outputting the sequence of characters. Given how the USB-COM mode works accurately, it seems like this could be just a firmware bug but I have not found any information about any firmware updates.

The scanner presses the Escape key before and after scanning, and there appears to be no way to disable this. This breaks our application.The scanning performance is also poor. It struggles with most barcodes.
