The test dial indicator worked on my milling machine. It is sturdy and easy to attach and set. It was essential in set up of some machine work. The description given on the sales add was great.

Maybe I'm missing something, but one of the joints on the segmented arm that holds the indicator cannot be tightened by any screw- it's simply a (not very) close fit between a rod and a through-hole. That means the arm cannot be locked into place. The assembly has other joints which are tightened by thumbscrews, I don't know why not this one. I made it work after drilling and tapping a hole on that piece (enclosed photos) so I could lock it down but, really?
