Not too badPros: Portable, cheapCons:-Not stable on its own. They should have built it so that it can easily stand while taking readings. I always have to place it inside a small beaker and that makes it difficult to read the display through the beaker.- Turning the sensor towards wind direction and aligning the meter so you can read it can be tricky.

The price is right, and it is made by a reputable HVAC test equipment vendor, so I know I can trust it more than a no-name knock-off.My more expensive knockoff unit is very sensitive, but at duct speeds it generates bad readings, because it's maximum speed it about half of a typical duct speed. The testo has no moving parts, so it should have a reasonably long service life. And as a slender hot-wire probe system, it can measure your duct speeds with minimal interference with the configuration of the duct. The air aperture has a closed position to protect the sensor, and a horizontal and vertical position, depending on the duct configuration you are working on.
