The runic alphabet which is a composite of the runic symbols most commonly used in northern Europe. The names of the runes of the Elder Futhark are speculative recreations of what linguists call "proto-Germanic", which stems from "proto-Indo-European".

These are great for the novice diviner or rune caster, or for anyone with a casual interest in such things and a love of pretty objects. Good price to quality ratio. The stones are smooth, the gold lettering clear. Each bag contains a blank rune you may choose to use or leave out of your cast. I bought four bags (was teaching a class) and found no defects in any. Doesn't come with a booklet, but information on the runic futhark (alphabet) is easily found online. I like to draw a rune and carry it around for the day as a meditation object-- something to ground me in the present moment. Having such an object inscribed with an additional meaning I can interpret for my own day adds another layer of intention and significance to that moment.

These runes are absolutely beautiful and the energy about them is very nice. I've been reading Tarot for several years and wanted to add Runes to my readings and do not regret it one bit. These crystals come with a nice velvet carrying pouch as well.I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend to others. The runes are a little larger than the size of a quarter, real stones and crystals too. The symbols are etched into them, instead of just painted on. These are smooth crystals and feel very nice energy wise. After reading Tarot for so many years picking up on reading Runes or Rune Casting was very easy for me. The Rune Staves have a wealth of wisdom and guidance to offer and aren't that hard to interpret into daily life or even use in some Tarot spreads as well. Accuracy with these has been on point during readings. These would make wonderful gifts as they are lovely.

I love everything about these runes. I’m drawn to stones and crystals, and believe it has something to do with my being an earth sign. They are exactly as shown in the pictures as far as size goes. The only thing that is discouraging is the size of the velvet bag they come in. There’s just enough room for the runes to sit in the pouch, but not enough to mix up the stones by shaking the bag around.

I'm subtracting one star from this, SOLELY because the pouch they sent it in is fairly small. When I do my runecasts, I like to leave them in the pouch and draw each rune out as it finds its place in my hand. This pouch, while a decent pouch, is not suitable to me reaching my hand in and connecting with the runes. I will just have to get a slightly larger pouch for them.Other than that, the runes themselves are beautiful! They are more than adequate to replace the clay runes I had previous, which broke during a move (over half of them were cracked in half...I was very sad). These new runes are certainly a different feel, what with the polish and all, but they have a very organic feel to them, which is nice. Once these are purified and put into a proper pouch, they will provide years of guidance for my life's journey!

Very beautiful. I have 4 rune sets and this set is the best set I own in terms of detail. The runes are engraved beautifully, they're smooth, and they're the perfect size; not small, but not too big..probably about an inch in size.

I am very pleased with this purchase. The stones are exactly what is pictured. I was drawn to the natural pebble look and color. They were packaged well and none were chipped or broken and it was the complete set. Having read the reviews and knowing the pouch was small, I was not surprised. I ordered with expedited delivery and actually arrived sooner than expected. I definitely recommend the product and company. Thank you.

These runestones are great. They are the perfect size and feel. I received them promptly and without any problems. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for something like this. The only very small issue I had was the pouch they came in was almost too small to hold them all. Of course this could be due to the fact that from batch to batch they do not have complete control of the size and shapes of all the stones. It did not detract from the product in any way. Thanks TGS Gems!
