This one is now out of print. I am crossing my fingers that a Kindle version will show up one day. I think everyone interested in any kind of needlework, should own one. I mean, this is an amazing book with more information than you can shake a stick at. It will teach you everything! If it uses a needle or a hook, it's in there.In this age, we have videos to learn from, but videos are short and not in-depth. Those instructors assume that you understand and don't slow it down nor show it close up. While those are still helpful in a limited way, I recommend watching a video, then coming and looking it up in the book. It is a fantastic book to keep on hand.I bought one years ago and now I've bought another to replace the one that was heavily damaged while in storage for a short time, while we were moving to California. This is why it really does need a Kindle version.

This book is no longer being published, but was, in my opinion, one of the most informative and detailed stitchery books I've ever owned.Sadly, I loaned my personal copy to a friend, but it was never returned, so was very excited to see it offered for sale and in relatively decent condition!Thankful!Won't be lending this copy, no matter how good a friend they may be!

This is the second time I've purchased this book. The first time was in the 1980's. It's the most comprehensive guide to any type of stitchery I've ever seen. I gave my original to my daughter and bought this one for me. The pictures are very detailed. I love the spiral binding on the new one.

I had this book back in the 90s, and my daughter stole it when she moved out. This was a replacement for my book, and it is exactly the same.

This book has all the stitches and instructions for all sorts of sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc. It is a fabulous book with so much information. I have had this book for at least 10 years. It was used so much it literally broke in half at the binding. I recently replaced it knowing that the second copy would be used repeatedly.

So I purchased this book, and I'm not sure if I had received a different edition? The cover is completely different and there is a lot of text (less pictures than I was expecting, and they're all in black and white!) These aspects made the book much harder for it to hold my attention (I'm a very visual learner, so color photos really help me out-black and white pics are much less appealing to me and make it harder for me to focus on it) I haven't really learned anything from it so far, but I'm going to put it down for a bit and give it a go again at a later date (maybe it'll be easier to absorb the information after a break?) Then I intend to edit this review afterwards with a more definite verdict.I thought I would post this in-case anyone was expecting a more modern, in color version of this book, because as I said I seem to have gotten an older edition.

This book is great for beginners to advanced. I've been using the hardbound book for over 30 years (whenever it comes back from whoever borrowed it). I bought this spiral bound version for a gift and like the way it lays flat, I like the great drawings and clear instructions. It inspires creativity and makes one appreciate the centuries of handwork history we can continue today, making heirlooms with our work. Likewise, all my daughter-in-laws and many friends have proven this books usefulness for a myriad of their special projects.

I love this book - used to have an earlier version but lost it in a fire. It covers everything you need to know about crochet,knitting,embroidery, macrame,sewing and tatting. Lots of knitting and crochet stitch patterns and all easy to followDelivery was on time. No complaints about the service.
