This is not cheap, but if you are opening old bottles of expensive wines and you are afraid that the cork might break, you need this. Just be careful when you are trying to fit the Ah-So between the cork and bottle. The blade points are quite sharp and if your hand is in the way and it slips out, you could get stabbed. That said, absolutely love this thing.

When I was told about this cork remover, I scoffed. My existing cork remover could do the job just as well, I thought. Two 1983 bottles of Bordeaux with disintegrating corks convinced me I was very wrong. After taking the time to learn how to use the Durand properly, I have not lost a single cork. Expensive cork remover, but saving one bottle of vintage wine from cork bits makes this worth every penny. Nothing better on the market, I believe.
