My kids love shooting hoops so we needed one for our basketball net. I love that it keeps the net in place and even on windy days it doesn't move around.

I had bags of sand on my basketball hoop. It was gross. I found this bc I just wanted a lid. These little thing holds as much bags of sand I had on there is neat compact and durable.

Title says it all. Should have been a great product, well designed. Like reviewers recommended, I sprayed it with UV protection since it will be out in the sun all the time and I would like it to last. Went out and bought sand, filled the bag, set it on our hoop and then I go to zip it up and the zipper DOES NOT WORK. Yes there is a velcro cover but the first time it rains this will be a mess. Very very disappointed.

It worked for about a week, then the zipper broke. One year later, and the bag is tattered and spills sand everywhere!

This product is such a great idea. Like a lot of people, I'm scared to fill my basketball hoop with water because it will expand when frozen, makes it harder to move, etc. Instead, I had previously used sand bags (which fall apart after a few months). I had tried loading up some old sleeping bag cases, but those too start falling apart from being in the sun.When I saw this, I knew I had to get it. These bags are sturdy; they're made of a thick fake-leather like material. Very thick. You can pretty much put a sand bag directly in, or in my case, I poured in the contents of a dissolving sand bag. It zippers closed, and then there is a wide velcro strap that seals over the zipper.My wife is much happier now as the hoop (which is on our curb on the street) looks a lot less trashy. I'm happy because the bag is sturdy for when I need to move it around.One note: Personally, I'm using one of these along with two old sleeping bag cases filled. I'm not sure a single one of these is enough to keep a hoop standing in strong winds.

I hate to say this bc it's a well made product but it doesn't hold enough sand to hold down a hoop, so what's the point?
