I had one of these tools many many years ago with a previous dog, and knew I needed to buy another tool once I brought a new pup home (to my very wooded yard which has frequent deer visitors and frequent ticks). My new dog has very dense needle-like fur, which sometimes makes it difficult to part the fur to get the removal tool close enough to the skin to really get up under the tick to pull it off cleanly. Sometimes it takes me several attempts, but other times I am able to get it off on the first attempt. This works incredibly well on ticks on humans. Another reviewer complained about the colors of the tools, and my package contained two white and one orange, which works just fine for me though not exactly what was pictured. I don’t know that I need 3 of these so I will likely give some away. My personal approach is to sit with my dog with the tool on a paper towel with an alcohol wipe nearby. I remove the tick, place the tool on the paper towel, wipe my doggy’s tick bite, then wipe the tick off of the tool using the alcohol wipe. I am glad to be prepared with this tool, even though my dog is on prevention meds!

I live in the country, and the forest has been and will always be my playground. These are an absolute must for those that love the outdoors, especially with the emergence of new tickborne diseases like Powassan virus which, unlike Lyme disease, can be transmitted in as little as 15 minutes. We take precautions, of course, but I keep one of these in each of our backpacks just in case. I also keep one in my purse, and one in the car. Although I've only had to use them a few times, I think they're far superior to tweezers both for ease of use and for removing the entire tick in one piece. This should be part of every nature lover's list of essential items. Definitely recommend.

This is a handy good product for tick removal. It works really good on the little tick that are to small to get your fingers on. I got these as gifts to give to friends who are new outdoor hiking in tick country. Great product.

Works really well for getting ticks removed from the body. Better than tweezers and easier, too! If you live in the woods, this is a must-have.

This is a good idea for tick removal. Using tweezers often results on squeezing the tick contents into the person or animal the tick is attached to and that increases the odds of getting an infection. Tweezers often leave pieces of the tick behind as well. This product allows you to get under the tick and pull straight up so you get the whole tick off without squeezing it. I've used it numerous times and it works well. It can be hard when the tick is flipping around since you have to get perpendicular to the body to get it to work so you just have to keep moving the scoop until you get it where it will work. My biggest complaint is the choice of colors. I pretty much use the light colored ones because it's easier to see the tick. I can't really use the dark colored ones so I feel those are a bit of a waste in the multi-pack. It's also a little harder to clean since it's plastic. I have a similar product in metal and that one is easier to clean, plus it's a little smaller. I would recommend having these or a similar product with you all the time during tick season.

Having removed many ticks from two dogs in Maine and Canada a few years ago, we found this to be the most convenient method. Unlike tweezers and some other tools, this does not squeeze the tick. Squeezing the tick is likely to force potentially infected material into the dog, so you want to avoid doing that. Another reason this is my favorite tool for an unpleasant process is that the tick ends up in the spoon, so you can easily dump it into a jar or something if you decide to have the tick tested (or you just want to finish killing it with alcohol). I now have one of these in my car, at home, and in my bag--because what you don't want to do if you discover a tick on you is have to go looking for a tick-removal tool.

I have had these previously and they are amazing. These are made different than some of the newer ones out. It has a rounder cup with a better V cut to grab the tick with. These are the original tick off and work every time no hassle and it gets the whole tick. Even the embedded ones come out whole. You never have to touch those creepy crawly nasty little arachnid family bugs.Have been using these for many many years and HIGHLY recommend them. They last forever (unless you lose it like I did)I ordered some others and they are a little oblong and suck. Can’t grab the tick it just scoops over it.Buy the original tick off it is SO worth it.Love these and I give them to friends and family.
